  1. I want Hendriks more than I have ever wanted a reliever.
  2. They gave Robertson 4 years and he wasn't as good as Hendriks is.
  3. Probably not fair to grill Hahn on this. He's been more adversely affected than anyone. He didn't want La Russa and was denied a search for manager.
  4. I forget where I said it but I said I think people are crazy for expecting Brantley to be a full time DH here. I still think that's unlikely. If we saw Eloy go to DH though...
  5. He's a luxury they can't afford with the other holes. "A team with James McCann has already came up short in the postseason." The guy is an absolute bulldog. I want Heuer and Foster watching him go through the motions of being a pen guy. He's from Perth and approaches baseball like he's going to WAR. Love this guy.
  6. Seems like to me that Eaton told them no questions on LaRussa and they still did it. That's why the hosts weren't mad or prickly about it.
  7. Would I prefer Pederson? Probably yes. Moreso due to health than anything else. I have always liked Eaton's style of play though. If he can stay healthy this year I don't see Pederson outperforming by much if any. And while it should be a lesser concern, I think Pederson gets more money. I think they get a short term DH option like Schwarber but cheaper and easier to cut bait with. Why would Schwarber want to come her other than to stay in Chicago and to win? I think another org could give him a better guarantee to play close to everyday.
  8. LOL. You didn't respond to my post. You just basically said I like Eaton because we're both "fill in the blank with whatever negative characterization." You didn't even respond to one of my posts just tried to get a dig in because you saw me posting. But it's all in my head I am just so self involved that I made you start childish shit with me. This is not me getting upset with you because you disagreed with my baseball opinion. In a completely unsolicited fashion, you came at me personally. Not one of my opinions. Amazing how you can contort facts to rationalize your immature behavior. Next time someone makes a thread on one of Tony La Russa's pending court cases I am going to reply "Wow - Tony drinking and driving - Look at Ray Ray Run must love this guy since they're so similar." And then when you respond like WTF I am just going to tell you that not everyone is going to bow down and I am just busting your balls because you also posted in the thread.
  9. I hadn't noticed since *checks posting history* the last time I posted multiple times in a day.
  10. The point was the offseason just begun. Amazing you're judging an offseason on December 8th but whatever suits your narrative i guess.
  11. Engel plays RF against LHP and likely gets starts when Eloy/Eaton continue their long term beefs with walls. All you do is try to prod me whenever I post. I've gone back and forth with people on here for the better part of a decade. Can disagree with someone in one thread and agree in another. You just seem to come at me personally over and over and like to conjure up drama. I am here to talk Sox, you seem to be looking for you fix of so badly needed attention. I am good with this topic though.
  12. Yeah I haven't heard anything negative on Eaton out of Washington. Not ruling it out but nothing that became a big story at least.
  13. Rojas hasn't proven anything in the MLB. He's not going to be expensive add. Schwarber has hit in the big leagues. People forget Hahn targeted and acquired Eaton. He is on board with this move. As for the manager, Hahn definitely wanted Hinch but also really valued the potential of a search process. He wanted to interview several other guys to learn about the processes of other teams, the teams the Sox will be competing against, etc. Both for the purpose of learning and for a potential competitive edge. Unsolicited personal attacks from this loud mouth. What a shock. Reminding me why I stopped posting frequently.
  14. I get why Sox fans want Schwarber and he'd be a luxury. Other than staying in Chicago, why would he want to come here? He can have guaranteed AB's elsewhere where they dont have full outfields, an MVP first baseman and top 20 1B prospect primed to take over DH spot.
  15. On paper with an "Everybody stay healthy" scenario - It's us or the Dodgers. Can't even think who would be #3. Atlanta? Yankees?
  16. They've done their due diligence. He fits the roster as constructed. Just my opinion and would love to be wrong but people are crazy if they think the Sox are going to get Cruz or Brantley to be the DH.
  17. I think it'd be a disappointment if it's not one of the absolute best lineups in baseball.
  18. The line up is pretty clear: 1 - SS Anderson 2 - 3B Moncada 3 - 1B/DH Abreu 4 - LF Eloy 5 - C Grandal 6 - CF Robert 7 - DH/1B Vaughn/Potential Addition 8 - RF Eaton/Engel 9 - 2B - Madrigal
  19. Yup. He had a 260 BABIP last year when his career average BABIP is over .330. You put him in Madrigal 8-9 after our 1-7 and we are the toughest lineup in the AL. Sox fans weren't ready for the inevitable scenario where the Sox fill their holes without signing Springer/Bauer.
  20. Having Eaton-Madrigal back to back after our 1-7 is a never ending nightmare.
