He's got a 3.37/3.62 ERA/FIP with a career low walk rate of 1.6 BB/9. I dont really see that as erratic.
-
Hendricks is erratic?

Sox can't cut bait. He'll be the starting 2B until Madrigal comes up. I hope they cut bait though.

**2019 "I hate my Fantasy Team" Fantasy Football thread**
raBBit replied to Brian's topic in A and J's Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I have 6 teams (yes I am degenerate). By and large, things are going pretty well. On one of my teams, a 12 team half PPR, I drafted the following 1) Barkley 2) OBJ 3) Mahomes 4) Antonio Brown 5) Tevin Coleman 6) Derrius Guice So my 3 RB's are on the shelf and my WR2 is MIA. Woof. -
I heard Bummer, Fulmer and lower level minor leaguer that wasn't Bush.
-
Not really at the expense of Bummer.

I have no problem giving him a shot to get some ABs - especially with the additonal roster spot. I don't feel the need to hand him an every day position. We should go into 2020 with the scenario that in the situation an intended regular gets hurt, we have a capable alternative in waiting. Whether that's on the bench and taking on expanded role or in AAA, Collins is one of those guys for me. I would like to sign Grandal and have Abreu/Grandal/McCann and Collins handle C-1B-DH. Trade for Pederson and plug him in RF once Robert is up. R CF Robert S 3B Moncada R 1B/DH Abreu S C/DH Grandal R LF Jimenez L RF Pederson R SS Anderson R/L DH/C/1B McCann/Collins R 2B Madrigal

I want to win. If the Sox want to win they will address the holes they have and not hand people roles based on where they were drafted in 2016.
-
So I guess Fulmer should get a spot too? I am concerned with having the best baseball team. Not rationalizing moves from years ago. People get injured. Collins should be in a position to step up if an injury occurs.
-
I guess I am not operating under the assumption that Collins has earned a chance to play everyday like you are.
-
Why does that mean that?

And That's A Slammin' White Sox Winner !

That's a nice looking recap. -
There is no more slam dunk of a free agent for the Sox than Grandal. We have young players we have developed controllable for at least three seasons at 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, LF, CF, SP1, SP3, SP4 & SP5 and a bunch of maybes at 1B/DH/OF. Invest in catcher. Plug the high OBP, switch-hitting veteran catcher in the #5 or #6 hole and never think twice about it.

They can't cut bait ever but they should.
-
Well your mental exercise here really supports his inclusion on the AFL roster. Sox need to learn more about him for the next step. Perhaps they're showcasing him to be a secondary piece in a trade this offseason.
-
I am annoyed by it. They also don't use the "mud" they used to put on the ball. It's obvious the MLB values home runs for what it does for the games excitement but we need more balls in play more than anything.
-
The biggest addition for next offseason will be the addition by subtraction. Skole, Delmonico, Reed, Rondon, Jay, Castillo and Alonso accounted for -6.6 WAR. Santana, Banuelos and Detwiler accounted for -1.6 WAR. Covey somehow accounted for just -.1 WAR despite 50+ innings of an ERA at 8.
-
With righties all over the infield, that role would be better for a lefty but I do love Howie Kendrick.
-
While it pales in comparison, Vasquez also fought a teammate and put him out for the season just the other day. While it's only loosely related, Huntington has to be on his way out of Pittsburgh.
-
Sign Grandal and put his name (not position) into the #5 for the year. 110 games at catcher, 35 games at DH and 10 games at 1B. Sign a solid left-handed infield bat to compliment. CF Robert 2B Madrigal 3B Moncada 1B/DH Abreu C/1B/DH Grandal LF Jimenez DH/C Collins/McCann SS Anderson That's without even addressing RF which they will do in some way.
-
It is true. He's a terrible fit. I am not sure why you're limiting the options to free agents. There are multiple better options via trade. There is a scenario where the trade targets get traded and the better free agents get signed. In the case that that happens and Puig is still on the market because no one wants to deal with the idiot (a likely scenario) than the Sox failed in their pursuit of filling the RF hole. Also, Polanco can't get non-tendered. The Pirates already extended him and he has a guaranteed contract for next year.
-
I mean you're not wrong but I still want nothing to do with Puig. If there is a situation where he's the best available the Sox FO failed.
-
Houston acquired Cole before Morton was gone. Houson then acquired Greinke before Cole leaves. They haven't lost anything yet. Cole is a little better than Grienke so they'll take a down tick in production next year.
-
No one is going to commit significant resources to Puig IMO. As for the Sox, he's a fit in position only. He doesn't bat left-handed and I don't want that cancer near our young, budding core.
-
Indeed. Chase Credit Journey is a pretty nice feature.
