Wtf dude? He can take exception to one crime of humanity without addressing others. The water in Flint is not relevant whatsoever. No need to obfuscate the thread.

There really hasn't been any explanation as far as I've seen. Just the court ruling. The story hasn't picked up any media attention so I am not sure the ruling will be explained.

Kid that grew up on the same street as me was murdered over his iphone in 2015. Court just ruled his killer will be back on the streets in 2020. Chicago really becoming the beacon for justice. https://www.nbcchicago.com/news/local/West-Side-Man-Charged-With-Fatal-Lakeview-Armed-Robbery-558617491.html

I've thought about this too. They've never paid him any mind so it will be interesting to see if their tune changes/ they're positive.

I was suspended for a while for going at it with a guy in DMs who told me I wasn't college material and should give up on wanting to be lawyer. I was 13. After years I came back and kind of applauded some of the moves Theo Epstein made at the end of the Cubs rebuild. I was greeted with a lot of hate for speaking positively about the Cubs. I said something like "good to see this place still has a pulse" and was banned forever. My dad, who is entirely passive on the forums, was suspended sometime in 06-09 when Bobby Jenks was "missing." He said something to the effect of "I know Bobby has had substance issues in his past I really hope it's not related."

That's fair but I feel they've been handling a timeline thus far with regards to Eloy, Kopech, Cease, Madrgial and Robert. Next year is when things open up. I think Sox buck the trend with Vaughn. I could be wrong of course but to me he's the type of guy they won't have any excuses on and if the team is average next year and Vaughn is hitting at AA there are no excuses. I guess it would be dependent on the roster construction to an extent though.

The rumors were (partially) true: Collins to AAA
raBBit replied to Jose Abreu's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I am almost hoping Charlotte doesn't make the playoffs. We need to see Collins ASAP. No reason to trout out this trash any longer. -
Jack needs to cool it in the MiLB threads. I have been saying it since they drafted him and I will repeat. Vaughn is in Chicago next July health permitting.

The urination stuff came from a fake report of opposition research. 1) Great point. 2) The jail didn't have a suicide all year. Epstein was the most high profile prisoner in the country. No individual prisoner should have been under higher surveillance than Epstein. This can't be chalked up as incompetence. This is something deliberate. There was "maintenance" when it happened and the cameras "malfunctioned." Sounds reasonable.

I don't know. This whole Epstein having pedophilia island used to another "right wing conspiracy" that most people would laugh at and tell people to stop talking about until Epstein got arrested this most recent time (which is not the first time). But to the point, didn't some of the Epstein court documents say Trump banned him from Mar-A-Lago for harassing a young female worker? One of Epstein's victim's lawyers is also on record saying Trump was very helpful in their case and offered anything he could against Epstein. Trump obviously has a litany of issues but I think the pedophilia and the sexual perversions are Clinton persuasions.

A fair and balanced soliloquy about Jose Abreu, by ron
raBBit replied to ron883's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Caulfield what is with the obsession with the Brewers? You just started a thread about their pitching staff in PHT. -
Bad MiLB gamethread! 5 pages should mean Robert went 4-5 with 3 XBH, Madrgial was 4-4 in his first game in AAA and Stiever went 7 scoreless with 11Ks. Keep the constant whining in PHT. Don't pollute the national parks!!!

A fair and balanced soliloquy about Jose Abreu, by ron
raBBit replied to ron883's topic in Pale Hose Talk
If Ron can keep his Abreu opinions here it serves good purpose. -
My gf drives an early 2010's Nissan Altima (if that matters). Her driver side window stopped working. For a period of time, she would be able to open it and then sometimes she wouldn't be able to close it. So I don't think it's a matter of a cable or something being disconnected. Anyone have experience with an issue like this? Google responses are too cluttered.

You have to respect the creativity in their thievery.

They list him at 190. Maybe that's what he was when they signed him. Maybe there is another Caraballo in the system, but if they only have one, the guy is much closer to 290. Just a massive human being

Ozuna can't play RF and bats right-handed. I dont see the fit but I agree with what you're saying though.

I am actually 100% okay with the quantity approach in free agency. We really need to turn over the 40 man roster and while I could argue otherwise, the team won't look at Rendon as a fit. Past Rendon, Cole is going to be highly desired and it is not reasonable to expect the Sox to sign a pitcher to a 6-9 year deal with an AAV north of a quarter mil. 1) Sign Grandal - 4 years, 64M 2) Sign Alex Wood - 1 year + player option. 11M + 8M 3) Sign Tony Cingrani - 2 years, 19M 4) Sign Brandon Kintzler - 2 years, 10M 5) Trade Fry and a prospect to the Dodgers for Ross Stripling 6) Trade a couple prospects for Brandon Nimmo. Then I assume the Sox will keep Abreu for 1+1 at a cheap price. By April 20th we're looking at: 1) CF Robert 2) 3B Moncada 3) 1B Abreu 4) C Grandal 5) LF Eloy 6) RF Nimmo 7) SS Anderson 8') DH Collins 9) 2B Madrigal - Use the DH as rotating with Abreu getting starts there and Leury getting starts with regular starters getting a look at DH. Your bench is McCann, Leury and couple of others. 1) Giolito 2) Wood 3) Kopech 4) Cease 5) Lopez/Stripling - Stripling can move and back forth from the pen being the flex guy when injuries occur. Rodon returns late in year and Dunning would seemingly be ready midseason for added depth. Pen: 1) Colome 2) Bummer 3) Kintzler 4) Cingrani 5) Stripling and whoever else they want to run with. Is that a perfect team? No. Is it pretty good? I think so. And it won't cost that much. To me the big thing is just signing Grandal.

It's disheartening how many fans just casually say "Just sign Cole." As if it's that easy. What I am watching and hoping for is an opt-out from Stephen Strasburg. That would add one more stud to that top tier of FA SPs with Cole and Bumgarner if you value him as such. That would help our odds at landing one tremendously. If it's just Cole, someone will get stupid and give him $200M and JR aint going there.

This is when they should have called up Robert to AAA. It's almost like they want to create problems for themselves.

I think the points that you, chitownsportsfan and CWS are all good and valid. There are plenty of reasons to be down on him. His K% and BB% and the way they are trending is a bit scary. That said, there are plenty of prospects hitting a wall offensively in the Southern League and in BHam specifically. I think Rutherford swing has looked more powerful this year than it has in the past and despite his struggles, I still see a guy who uses the whole field to hit and isn't awful at any individual aspect of the game. I think getting stronger and growing into his body could make a big difference for the kid. There's still a 4th outfielder in him. I guess what I am trying to say is while I get the argument against his defenders, I can totally see this guy come back next year in Charlotte and put up an OPS over 1.000 in the first several weeks at Charlotte. There are plenty reasons to be down on him but there are a few lingering not to write him off just yet.
