I think he's just reading the tea leaves. Knowing how the Sox do things, if they want to leak something themselves they've typically done scheduled tweets on the hour.
-
Maybe Sox twitter scheduled for 11AM? Half serious. If I had to guess, I'd guess tomorrow morning.
-
I think it's safe that Rosenthal or Heyman wont break it tonight but who knows if some random reports and then some national guy confirms its the wild west.
-
It will be interesting to see how Sox plan to release it. I imagine it will leak before they can make good on any plans on it.
-
You're probably right but Palka stands on the left side of the box and hits balls over fences.

-1 points to whoever just commended the intelligent baseball discussion.

I am saying he was wrong as no deal occurred. I like Sox chances on Machado though. They feel fine in the waiting game. Lozano is probably sweating though.
-
I would think acquiring Pederson would imply the Sox expect to get Machado. Your point is not wrong but the Sox have a strength in left-handed relieves. Moving Bummer or Fry makes sense. Moving Bush, which they're hesitant to do, is arguable and you'd have a point. At the same time, it is a market and they could be selling high on a guy who dominated rookie bull in a SSS.
-
He already broke it when he said that Machado didnt want to leave chicago without signing weeks ago.
-
I don't like the Alonso move unless it really made a difference to getting Machado and Sox got him. Jay is a professional outfielder and the type of player we always lack and makes a pittance. I don't care about Delmonico's future but Palka is worth considering and it's unclear how they'll handle him. Colome and Herrera are both flexible pieces that could be utilized if the Sox are good and traded if the Sox are bad.
-
I can't watch at work but the whole offseason is about one year deals. Their commitment to the longterm is evident by them keeping flexibility with the group of marginal players they acquired with one year/two year deals. It's about flexibility and opportunity.

Who is doing that?

He said no no stop gaps?

Apples to oranges. Pollock has had over 500 plate appearances once in his career. He gets paid 65 cents on the dollar because he is available 65 percent of the year.
-
If you argue about the White Sox chances to compete in the coming years without mention of the fact that they are in the worst division in baseball for the foreseeable future you don't have a good argument.
-
The balls are changing in AA this year though. Of course that will have a relative increase all parks/leagues but it should be less of an offensive wasteland.
-
What exactly is this based on?
-
They won't be able to hold everyone on the 40 the next couple years. A 1/3 of the top thirty prospects ended the year in A+. They're all going to be needing protection soon. That's why trading Alex Call made sense (who they traded him for is another story). That's why potentially trading one of Fry/Bummer makes sense. It's not all cut and dried.

WGN breaking he’s been arrested

Guy is still on the run.
-
how is this spring speed calculated.
-
I disagree. What position does he even play? Davidson had no role on this team. Delmonico has a role for three weeks as Eloy's stand in. Leury has use as the 24th/25th guy on the roster.
-
Pederson is a fine centerfielder. There is a lot more that goes into being an outfielder than foot speed especially given the wonky ways it's recorded. Coredll has no place on the roster. Leury has no part of any platoon especially in RF.

Sox are not talking about acquiring Rich HIll. I think Hill is a great pitcher and fits the team well but he makes $19M and usually misses several starts. JR is going to surprise some people with his spending but acquiring Dick Mountain to pay him $1M a start in a year that's likely a transition year doesn't seem to be the type of a move a shrewd but conservative owner would get behind.
-
No actually. I don’t think anything has changed in terms of Sox chances. Lozano is both a nuisance and holding out for the best offer possible. Sox have nothing to do but wait
