  1. Jon Jay makes sense for this roster and makes sense at that price. If he's Manny's boy that's icing on the cake. This is a far better acquisition than Yonder Alonso at the least.
  2. Pretty clearly that guy got info from a player who is friends with Machado.
  3. WSD said he only gives you one word responses and wouldn't give you any inside info if he had it. I'd be careful running around saying you're getting info from him. He tends to not like that.
  4. I think more positive news will be coming out soon regarding the Sox chances on Machado. I'd still think Machado is more likely than Harper.
  5. Where did bucket post? EDIT: See he has changed his username. nvm.
  6. He was the first to have Q trade being imminent this summer. I know McGuffey and he's a good dude so I am biased but I think we're seeing him just kind of struggle to toe the line as reporter/producer and fan of the team. Given the state of the White Sox fan base right now, him toeing that line got elevated to the extent of it bringing plenty of attention his way. He seemed to be supporting both sides of the argument yesterday and it wasn't evidently clear what was from a "source" or what was his opinion. As far as Levine's tweets, he's a pawn of sorts. That's not to say that he doesn't have sources because he most certainly does but unless he's reporting something is imminent, I would ignore him. Levine has to give to get the source to give back. Levine gives - "White Sox not going to sign anyone to a record breaking deal. - Ignore or consider for the implication of why the Sox would want that out. Levine gets back - "White Sox to sign Jeurys Familia" - Take seriously Levine kept saying the Sox would not offer Cespedes or Gordon more than three years over and over and over again. Sox offered them both four years. Now Levine is saying the White Sox won't offer 10 years. I just don't buy that from what I know. Why would the Sox offer 10 years if other teams are falling years short? The Sox have what they're willing to spend their limit. It just doesn't seem they're being pushed to give their best offer yet. Wildcard is still Phillies for me. Even if Harper/Machado don't want to go there, it seems they're the only team offering the same ballpark of offers the Sox are willing to put forth.
  7. You said I was full of it last night. Nice try though. Take a look back at how the posts aged.
  8. You might want do a refresher on the rules if you're going to speak so matter of factually on this. People might parrot your thoughts on the rules thinking they're accurate but they're not.
  9. I think the naysayers have been suspended. Not sure, just know the site got a lot better today hah
  10. He was still bragging about his scoop last night so i didn't see that.
  11. The rumor was that Machado loved the Sox so much he wanted to skip meeting with other teams and go right to the Sox. It was an unsubstantiated rumor from Facebook like that. Could have been made up in hopes to be right, I don’t know. For whatever reason, it caught steam here. Probably just the desire to have rumors
  12. i guess that rumor from earlier in the week was made up. Let the waiting continue.
  13. Without making moves first, the chances that the Dodgers/Cubs sign Pollock are about as good as me and you crowdfunding a Pollock signing. I am just not sure this a fold in this saga we have to consider.
  14. I just disagree that he's waiting on the Dodgers in the sense that they hold the cards. He knows what his guy wants and knows what everyone is offering. It hasn't gone silent on Harper because Boras played himself into a corner.
  15. I think Bellinger would be off the table but I agree with your sentiment. What's the word locally? Is there a lot of chatter on Harper?
  16. Jon Lester is going to be a Hall of Famer because of his foresight. I just don't think Harper went in this with the that open of mind that the team with the best mix of effort and contract is going to win him over. He's maybe the biggest free agent ever, he had his 2-3 choices in mind, and he expects them to meet his price. We'll see if that works for him. I just don't see Boras' behavior being indicative of someone who is worried or desperate.
  17. The Dodgers have more pieces that could be helpful to the White Sox than any team in baseball. You could add Chris Taylor to your list as well. I'd eat Kemp's contract if they can throw in Taylor or Pederson.
  18. I mean my post was in response to someone saying the Philies and Sox are Harper's options.
  19. Ha, I might get there eventually if s2k5 is having a bad day.
  20. I was specifically speaking to HArper when I said Sox not loving their chances. I think the Sox tried to push the process to the end and it didn't go anywhere.
  21. If Sox strike out on Machado I think Sox definitely look to trade market as opposed to FA. You would think but he's been running wild for a few weeks now. Not totally sure but options aren't guaranteed money so they wouldn't factor. This may be one of those things that seems exploitable from the outside but would lead to an exec getting shamed and punished without necessarily breaking the rules.
