And to be clear, this woman isn't a victim. She is stating there are victims of racist because of Jerry DiPoto and others. She also stated that a DiPoto-led team will never make the playoffs because he is racist (nevermind 2014).

He spent 45 games hitting 5-9 and 100 game batting 1 or 2. I think Moncada can be rationalized to hit anywhere in the lineup except 3/4 at this point. Probably depends on who they acquire.

I really liked Ryu as an under the radar option for the Sox. OH well.

Anyone else getting some cringes in this thread??

Kyle Seager is another one if the Mariners kick in a bunch of cash.

Kevin Kiermaier is someone I've thought about as interesting. He's the only thing on the books for the Rays and had an awful year. I'd be curious what the Rays would want for him.

Simone Biles is still disgustingly good
raBBit replied to lostfan's topic in A and J's Olde Tyme Sports Pub
This girl is something. Does really well in media too. Interested to see how she can parlay this because her trade doesn't have a long shelf life with athletes. -
Ha, even better

I can confirm that this was not set up by the Sox in any way. Literally a random employee unaware of how sports twitter works. I imagine the Sox were really pissed off when they found out about it.
-
I think what was shared by UC employees was related to a video presentation they're putting together or the tech staff running a trial run for a meeting. Nothing is pertinent or happening today. What's interesting is the first person who put out the picture was quickly told by the UC to take it down. Of course people screenshotted and other people were there but just kind of funny that someone was unaware enough to post on Twitter and not realize their employer would be upset about it or that it would become a sports radio segment within the hour.

I haven't read most of the thread but Boras, KW and Hahn are all in Carlsbad. Grahpic seen was likely prep or part of a video they're putting together.

I don't believe the Cubs are in on Familia. He has been accused of domestic violence which is a badge a few too many of their players have carried. I think if the Sox sign Cruz it is an indication they are trying to compete this year. If the Indians make meaningful cuts to their roster. The Sox could possible win 86 games or something and win the division.
-
Cubs are now the front runner for Familia.
-
Why? Cruz has such a limited market and such a strong track record that he provides the potential for a low risk but immediate improvement to the lineup. Familia has no compensation attached and is a big nasty arm. When the team is not promised to be competitive but has an otherwise empty payroll I feel like higher end relievers who don't cost you compensation are exactly the type of targets the team should be going after. If we're good, we have an established closer. If we're not, we have a liquid asset come July.

I would legalize pot with a high tax rate. I would slash spending significantly. Roads and schools keep their funding and just about everything else gets cut. Not more votes on the budget as a whole. I would make hard concessions on the ridiculous pensions. Get all pension language out of any legally binding state statutes. Completely end every single "defined benefit" plan. No more public pensions. They get 401k's like everyone else. That gravy train needs to end. I would send consultants into the DMV and every other bullshit state building and see how much overhead could be trimmed by 3 people splitting the responsibilities that one person could handle. Essentially I would cut expenditures significantly and have targeted measures to increase revenue. Understand that Illinois' problems are so deep it would take a long time. An incremental approach is the only option.
-
You have to go back to 1994 to make your point though. My point is pervasive today and acknowledged by democrats and republicans alike.
-
Colorado is a high performing state that has done a lot of things I agree with. They are an exception to the rule as opposed to the rule. California is an absolute shit show.

I am talking about local politics. There is no precedent for what Republicans would do in Illinois if they had a scumbag like Madigan fixing things in their favor. At least in my lifetime. Generally speaking, republican led states are in a far better position financially compared to democrat ran states. To be clear: There is no mention or relevance of the POTUS in this post.
-
That's one state. How about a top ten worst financially run states and top ten best financially run states.
-
No it isn't. Don't vote for corrupt democrats who have bankrupted the state while they've held the entirety of the power and you don't have to increase taxes. I don't know that Republicans can or would fix the issues. Especially with Madigan still breathing. All I know is the state has done things one way during my life and they are in an awful place because of it. Make a marked change and deviate from the norm.

Yeah I am sure it wasn't that she was the only FLOTUS to be under criminal investigation. It wasn't her laughing about defending child rapists and getting them off. It wasn't her litany of scandals, it wasn't her spearheading the dismantling of the most evolved African country and laughing about it, it wasn't her attacking her husband's assault victims, it was just the emails that turned people off. Everything else in her best in US history record for corruption didn't resonate with the people. It was disregard for government security protocol that turned people off. Not the countries and lives ruined by her over multiple decades.
-
This is only because democrats spend the states broke and the locals have no alternative to democrats other than republicans. Like our state has more debt per person than any other state. So the citizens finally elect a republican because they're sick of the rampant spending and corruption. Rauner is completely neutered by the Democratic stronghold on any issues that his lack of a pulse already didn't already disqualify him from. It's almost as if two options turn into one option and that option is blatantly corrupt and has already ran the state dry. Gotta love Illinois.

What did the poster say about the GOP? Where's the relevance? But to your point, two wrongs do make a right.
-
What is the expectation for Pritzker on a.) legalizing weed and b.) driving tax? Hope everyone got out yesterday and took the time to vote against the intolerant, higher taxes and socialist policy.

Hahn says Eloy will spend most, if not all of the season in Chicago
raBBit replied to Jose Abreu's topic in Pale Hose Talk
This is one of those situations when Hahn says stuff just to seem like he has the player's best personal interest at heart but in reality he knows exactly what he is going to do at the start of next season. There's no reason to pay any mind to this.
