  1. This is just patently false. Hahn may have wanted to hire Hinch and might have given Hinch the indication that he was the top candidate (when Hahn was under the impression he would be hiring his manager). Regardless of that, Hahn and Jeremy Haber were ready for a significant undertaking where they interviewed over a dozen candidates whether they were legitimately considering a given candidate or not. The Sox front office wanted to use a manager search not only to find the best candidate, but to interview coaches from around the league to learn about what other teams are doing in the dugout and potentially gain a competitive advantage. Reinsdorf didn't allow this to take place. He was set on LaRussa as soon as LaRussa gave any indication he would come out of retirement (as Nightengale reported from the start). The Sox front office blamed Renteria for the team losing the division the lead down the stretch in September and for bungling the pitching plan in game 3 against Oakland. Many of the players were not supportive of Renteria (namely Keuchel and some of the Spanish guys) and Hahn definitely wanted to move on from Renteria. Reinsdorf was very loyal to Renteria and listened to Hahn in that he needed to be replaced but did not support Hahn in doing his job. Reinsdorf looked at hiring LaRussa as both an incredible opportunity (hire a HOF manager who is his friend) and as a way to check Hahn's power which Reinsdorf believed he was overstepping his depths. Who knows who Reinsdorf would side with if there were a difference of opinion between Kenny Williams and LaRussa, but Hahn is clearly #3 in baseball operations as far as Reinsdorf is concerned.
  2. To the topic at hand, has there been any update as to when this press conference will take place? Do Sox have to wait until after the WS?
  3. Check to see if there is an update on Hahn's end of season press conference to find Balta's theories about the Sox Jewish ownership and their supposed hypocrisy. There is a lot to hate on Reinsdorf for in his time owning a baseball team but he has made plenty of contributions to society. Funny how the admin's race baiting has devolved this thread into gang rape discussion. If Rick Hahn and Kenny Williams are responsible for the day to day, why didn't Hahn get to hire his own manager? Why weren't they allowed to have formal interviews with candidates for the managerial opening? The Sox booted LaRoche's kid from the clubhouse in spring training. You sure seem to know a lot about internal dealings that aren't public - what is your source? Your bias is so obvious in this post that none of it can be taken taken seriously.
  4. To be fair, if you're going to talk about Rodon's offseason routine, you have to mention hunting in addition to the items spoken to above.
  5. He's not alone. I am glad to have Grandal. I believe the broadcast for one of the games in Houston said it was his 6th straight postseason. Three different teams. I thought the way Grandal hit after April would chill some people out but they focus on the D. Which could be better.
  6. If you don't have proof that's fine I was just asking.
  7. He has a very nice swing. I could be wrong, but doesn't look like he'll be able to sign anytime soon unless he gets residency in a country soon and in time to be eligible for the Jan '22 class.
  8. Is there any support of this theory? When the base is stolen on the pitcher it doesn't matter if it is Grandal, you, me or a young roided out Pudge Rodriguez back there.
  9. Seriously everybody loves to shit on Grandal but every Sox starter is awful at holding guys on but Keuchel. Rodon is about as bad as you can be as a lefty. Lynn doesn't even seem to care. Cease won't shorten up won't vary his looks. Kopech looks like he just loses focus. Kimbrel's big slow leg kick should be ran on all day. It's very bad.
  10. Eloy needs to hit the baseball with some form of consistency to get be guaranteed a spot in the lineup everyday.
  11. I think they could have Abreu/Vaughn/Sheets/Eloy cover 1B/DH/LF and be insulated from injury.
  12. Hahn was like an ISIS hostage in that video. That's everything you need to know.
  13. While the PPD becoming official since this post, it changes things a bit, I completely agree we should not have thrown Hendriks once the Sox picked up 3 more runs. I didn't want to bring in Kimbrel when they did and didn't agree with taking him out when they did.
  14. I don't know for sure if he was there or not but he was not announced when all the taxi players were announced and on the field.
  15. Rodon with Lynn behind him tomorrow. Gio with Kopech/Cease behind him Wednesday.
  16. This guy has been avoiding court because of health issues. LOL
  17. Game 1 Lynn did not have his command. He does not match up will with the Astros. He was just getting beat and he was not competing at the same level. Giolito on the other hand, was executing. He was throwing the right pitches. The Astros were battling, battling, battling. Wasting foul balls. Laying off 3-2 off speed. Pretty comfortable around his change. It was very strange to me. I think he had crisp stuff and had control. Giolito has a pretty consistent track record since 2019. He has one of the lowest batting averages against and he doesn't walk a lot of guys. Giolito had exactly 2 starts with over 3 walks in 31 starts. Against Houston, 5 walks in 2.1IP. If you look at Giolito's game logs, when he pitches poorly there is one similarity - he gives up homeruns (with one exception). That's how you beat Gio. You guess FB or CU, guess right and get it up in the air. The Astros didn't do that once. Just felt a bit strange about it watching live.
  18. It's leaves. I said he was sick and was not with the team. Which the media just reported now. Get help. Players who don't have COVID go into COVID protocol every week. Thank you
  19. I never said he had COVID. I said he wasn't with the team. I said it was a fluid situation. If you weren't so insufferable you would realize that the Sox beat has acknowledged Abreu's status for tomorrow's game is in question. I am the first person to say that was the case. I am sure it was just coincidence.
  20. I wouldn't bother reasoning with him. His emotions take precedent over anything. RayRay can prove Jose is with the team apparently. Just remember, Ray Ray is saying Abreu is with the team and is fine. I am saying he's not with the team. I am always fine putting my word against his. Abreu may end up being fine by gametime tomorrow. I don't know the protocols or what's happened in the last hours. I just hope Jose can play for himself. He deserves it too damn much.
  21. Hahn said he expected him at the workout Monday. Was he there? No. Never said that. Please quote me though. I am not putting my name next to anything. Those who trust me can read through the lines. Those who don't can't ignore. Not rocket science.
  22. Seems like many can’t read between the lines. In all candor, I don’t know for sure if Abreu is or isn’t playing tomorrow. That said, there is a distinct possibility he does bot play. I don’t know if he or the team even knows if he plays at this point. He didn’t travel with the team. Not sure what the COVID protocol is anymore or what hoops he would need to clear as a vaccinated player.
