  1. Kids got tools but I would want a full time baseball commitment at this pick. Refined baseball skills are very difficult to develop regardless of raw athleticism.
  2. Singer a sinker this year? wonder when he’s picked. I think Liberatore is next best P.
  3. Who would of thought in March Covey would be ahead of both Giolito and Fulmer?
  4. He’ll need a quicker more efficient inning though as he’s over 40 pitches through 2 innings only.
  5. Still not that high considering how bad this team is. I think once Baltimore deals Machado and Jones that team basically quits and they’ll pull away from the rest of the tank pack. Their in a stronger division as well.
  6. The entire starting OF yesterday, Tilson, Engle, Trayce. Matt Skole hit cleanup. I’ll give Hahn credit this is no half hearted tank effort and if your going to do something may as well go all in on it.
  7. Keep him down until May of 2019. The sox are worst then I anticipated this year-no doubt. Fulmer and Giolito have been maddeningly disappointing. But a this point the year is shot. Take the pain. I want the first overall pick in 2019 this years suffering. I don’t want to waste service time for any of these guys to feel good. Promote Eloy, Kopech in May of 2019. At that time we may also have Dunning, Collins, and Burdi knocking on the door health permitting. That’s should make any sox fan pretty excited. It’s a year away. You can’t turn back. Take the pain, 52-110 here we come. Add some serviceable veterans on short term deals in the off-season, a real CF, perhaps another SP. This team looks entirely different a year from now.
  8. Never seen a young guy go this bad so quick complete loss of both command and stuff
  9. Isn’t this the two year anniversary of the KC 9th inning meltdown? Not much good good baseball the last few Memorial Holidays.
  10. Yea terrible body language see going forward the rest of the game
  11. Nightmare inning in all aspects maybe worst of year thus far
  12. You know bummer and Frye are a nice lefty tandem out of the pen
  13. That’s a pretty slash line for your 18th ranked prospect.
  14. No worries My only point is Anderson makes errors on plays which are mostly routine for MLB shortstop. I know there’s always going to be human physical errors. Sometimes it appears he doesn’t keep his head down on grounders, or he forces throws he would be better off just not making. If he can eliminate those he’ll be even better obviously.
  15. Not sure if this is directed at me and your attempting to bait me. It won’t work.
  16. Maybe mental isn’t the correct term. Don’t you think both were routine plays which a regular MLB shortstop should make? Anderson while still a young player seems to make quite a few of those. What should we call those then? The last throw in the ninth he should have stuck in his back pocket.
  17. Yesterday was a great example of where Tim Anderson is as a player. He hit two homers drew a walk and scored 3 runs. He also made three errors on two routine plays. I understand he’s playing with a banged up thumb, but a high throw to Abreu in the 1st directly lead to a run. The bottom of the ninth he booted a routine grounder and made an errant throw to home. The errors were of the mental variety. No doubt Anderson come along way improved walk rate, power and his average will rise once his babip rises. He still needs to get more disciplined on the routine play. No question the kid has a lot of physical tools. He has the ability to probably be the second best all around player on the team after Yoan. He just has to cut down on the preventable gaffes.
  18. Callis last mock had the Sox considering 4-5 guys depending on how,the picks fall ahead of sox at 4. I would prefer the Sox not to draft a HS bat like Kelenic. Great kid, great makeup, yadda, yadda, yadda. I read the same thing on Dillon Tate a number of years back too. There’s always too much projection with these HS kids involved and unless it’s a can’t miss generational talent like Harper or Griffey Jr I say pass. I’m not a fan of overthinking the draft and going underslot for Kelenic to go over slot for other talent later. The Phillies tried that a few years back and the results thus far for Moniak are not real encouraging. Take the BPA while considering risk of hitting their ceiling. The sox at 4 may have their choice of two of Bohm, BART, Madrigal or Singer. That’s a pretty good pool to pick a,ongst. These guys are both potentially high ceiling and less risk, and in line developmentally with the first wave of arriving talent in late 19, early 2020. The organization isn’t in a position to take risk on tools projection type players yet imo-although the TA choice is an argument against that I guess. We should have a top 5 pick in 19 as well. If all goes per plan, the Sox should draft another upside college player in 19. As the Sox improve and they draft lower they can have at all these prep players then which is more aligned with their risk value equilibrium in my view.
  19. You know I’m not too excited yet because it was only one start, but the Sox scored a coup by picking up Quintana as an afterthought would be great if this guy could be as well. The guy has talent remember he was a 1st rounder out of HS, but was diagnosed with diabetes and had to learn to live with his condition just as he was starting his career. He passed on signing and went to college. His High A stats in 14, and AA stats in 15 are not bad actually.
