  1. Sounds like Davis Martin in the clubhouse. So at least they have a plan.
  2. He’s still in his rookie contract and isn’t getting paid much in 24 because he’s been hurt for a good chunk of his career to this point. In most orgs, Crochet would have spent significant time in the minors and would be making even less, and potentially 2 extra years away from FA. He really doesn’t have much to b**** about.
  3. Kinda have to move him before his start tonight, no? Would be wild to take that risk.
  4. I’m with ya. I would have sent him to AAA to ramp up for a month. I said it all winter. But I’m also willing to admit what they did has been a smashing success. For all we know, he gets hurt in AAA and he’s basically toast in our mind at this point. Even if he’s not traded before the deadline, the Sox will cash in on him assuming he stays healthy. And honestly, I’d kid glove the hell out of him if he’s not moved.
  5. That’s certainly what I wanted and It would have made a ton of sense, but what they did sure worked. Sure this situation sucks, but you’re still sitting on a gold mine this winter if he’s not moved next few days.
  6. More like 3x. I don’t think Eflin and Feddes returns should be comparable at all.
  7. Biggest news here is at least 10 teams interested. That’s going to get you a nice package.
  8. Very well could be others piggybacking the Heyman report. Look, I don’t doubt Crochet has those feelings. I just don’t think they really matter too much.
  9. I suppose so, but I don’t think he’d be doing himself any favors or increasing his FV by doing so.
  10. If it blew up an underwhelming LAD deal, so be it. I will again ask the question what exactly Crochet can do if an acquiring club puts in the pen?
  11. Crochet can state this all he wants. It’s not how it works. He doesn’t really have a say in how a team uses him, unless he fakes an injury. It’s an unfortunate development, but it’s not the end of the world. Worst case, Sox kid glove him rest of reason and trade him in the winter. I also don’t necessarily take reports like this as gospel.
  12. Yeah, not really disagreeing. Hopefully can get someone who is blocked that is mildly interesting to give an audition to.
  13. He's dirt cheap, hits for some power, plays good defense and there are very few in any true SS available. He'll move, but the return will AAAA or super low level flyer.
  14. The thing about Robert is that upside is so tantalizing. Maybe it never all clicks, maybe it does. Even if his meh 2024 continues, and is repeated in 2025 with some IL stints, but then he has a monster first half in 2026, you can still get a huge package. His deal is immensely affordable.
  15. This narrative around Robert is confusing to me. The Sox absolutely do not HAVE to trade him. Its definitely a homeless man owning a Lamborghini situation, but the Sox absolutely should not be desperate to move him and settle for some BS package. It really irks me. Robert should bring a monster return, or you just hold until winter, or summer 2025 and get the monster package then. There is risk, but there is risk with any player and the control is what makes the risk worth bearing if the offers are not there. The Sox absolutely HAVE to hit a home run on the Robert return.
  16. Sure. He's the best player on the team by a country mile.
  17. Id wager someone acquires him.
  18. And someone has to pitch out of the pen. I’d rather roll the dice on Wilson being a trade asset in 2025 than playing $8M for a comparable reliever.
  19. Are the Robert offers worthy at this point?
  20. 100% agree with this. LAD would be like my 6 or 7th choice of the top options.
  21. Sure, but heck of a lot better than Rushing, Ferris and Freeland.
  22. I'd need something like Rushing, DePaula, Ryan/Hurt. Freeland and Outman for Crochet and Pham. Give them a reliever too if needed. It would hurt for LAD, but Crochet should be incredibly valuable and they don't have any elite prospects.
  23. This. Luis Robert is generational talent. Selling low on him would be insane. I understand the risk of holding, and I am fine with it. Don't get me wrong, I am fine trading Robert but the return needs to be massive. He puts in a season comparable to 2023 the first half of next season, and he's worth considerably more than he is right now. And Robert is certainly capable of putting in a better season than 2023.
  24. Lack of hitting is the major one. Being a Catcher, that might not stick at catcher, and doesn't have a bat to profile at 1B. Sox need an ELITE prospect to headline a Crochet deal. He is not that. I would be pretty pissed at the return Jimmy hinted.
