  1. Yep. You can live with 2023, 2024 is gonna really hurt unless he comes back 23 as a changed man.
  2. For sure. I think that is still in there. But it’s also Ok to admit that’s not close to what his ceiling was or what we all hoped he’d become.
  3. Man I really wanted Yoan to become a star. It’s a bummer it didn’t work out that way. He’s still a fine player that’s having a really tough season. I expect him to bounce back. But he’s never coming close to the ceiling he had and that sucks.
  4. Good post. I haven’t been able to master that last part, but I’m working on it.
  5. Its baseball. Of course they have chance. I don't think they're going to win the world series, nor do I think they'd win an ALDS, but they certainly have a chance. May as well enjoy the next couple months and pull for the squad as opposed to being miserable.
  6. Enters dumb thread wondering how in the world in has 2 pages in one morning. Sees about 75% Caulfield posts. INSERT SIMPSONS ENTER/IMMEDIATE EXIT GIF.
  7. Well, sure. But that requires on of our best hitters in Eloy, AV or Abreu to be on the bench, so that simply isn't happening everyday. Engel sort of sucks.
  8. In the flip side, Robert taking 3 walks earlier in the game, one of which he was called out on a pitch a foot off the plate, were very encouraging.
  9. Hopefully we get the same lineup today but with Robert in CF, AV in LF, Pollock in RF and Eloy DH. Pollock needs to learn to be ok playing RF; that is the best possible defensive lineup we got.
  10. It’s just hard to image how bad of shape this team would be without Jose. That’s when I start to change my tune.
  11. If Lamet could be optioned he'd be interesting, but the reason the Brewers DFA'd him is that he had just crossed the 5 year service threshold literally a few days before the deadline. Sounds like perhaps the Brewers were not aware of that, though they'd never truly admit that.
  12. Oh I definitely agree. He's been mostly bad since returning from the groin injury. He also looks very.....distracted.
  13. This is so close to perfect. A thing of beauty. Hopefully we get the A+ lineup tomorrow with Robert in CF, AV and Pollock in the corners and Eloy at DH.
  14. Yeah, something like 2 years $15M. $3M or so for balance of this season and $12M next season makes sense. Could even get cute and front load it so avoid potential luxury tax issues next season if Sox actually decide to add meaningful players this offseason.
  15. Me too. Though any deal needs to include 2023 as well, at least a team option. (Now let's take cover from the usual anti-Conforto suspects)
  16. TA has 120 wRC+ this season. He's been frustrating with runners on this year (even more reason to keep him at lead-off), but batting him 9th is bat shit crazy.
  17. It was first time they were 2 over since 6-4, so yeah first time since 6-3 on April 17th if they win.
  18. With a LHP on the mound tonight, I will go with Anderson SS, AV RF, Eloy LF, Abreu 1B, Robert DH, Moncada 3B, Pollock CF, Harrison 2B, Seby C If Yaz is in there, flip Yaz and Harrison in the order. Pollock has looked surprisingly decent in CF, so I'd stick with that for now.
  19. Joc Pederson I guess is a better option than Sheets, but he's just another DH masquerading as an awful corner OF. I really don't think he would have been a very good fit. Assuming the team is healthy, I guess you could turn Pollock into a straight weakside platoon bat to get Joc OF starts against RHP...but yeah, I just....am not that disappointed we didn't get him .
  20. GreenSox at it again with his awful trade comps.
