  1. It is a bit puzzling. I get why the O's would sell high on Lopez, I just find this return to be very middling.
  2. Go to PadresTalk. They'll welcome you with open arms for all your positive takes.
  3. The O's have a better record than the Sox and are 2.5 GB of a WC. I don't see you campaigning for the Sox to sell.
  4. For Cade Povich (A+), Yennier Cano (MLB), Juan Nunez (RK) and Juan Rojas (RK), all pitching prospects. I know Lopez was not good as recently as last season, but feels pretty light for a (currently elite) reliever with 2.33 seasons of control. Only Povich was in Twins top 30. Cano has pitched some in the majors this year, but has gotten lit up. Other two are young pitching prospects in complex league.
  5. This trade wasn't to solve a problem. It was to get something useful for something they were going to lose for nothing. There isn't much more to it.
  6. Right. How is 6-13 looking optimistic when they’re 3-3 so far? They aren’t going 3-10 in the next 13 lol
  7. With a smart offseason (prioritizing left handed hitting and defense) and cleaning house on the coaching staff, sure. Running this same shit show back in 2023 has 0% chance of working.
  8. They are 3-3….so that math doesn’t really check out.
  9. Fair. I figured that would be the choice as well. But I don’t mind this either. If Yaz doesn’t figure it out in next couple weeks Perez will certainly be here in September and get plenty of a PT, so it’s really just a month. Reese really hadn’t played much since Sebys resurgence.
  10. Did you really expect Sox to carry three catchers all of August?
  11. That was a very 2022 White Sox game. Just so blehhh. Great pitching performance spoiled by awful offense. Back to .500 and 3 GB.
  12. Im right there with ya as a Yaz fan, but you cant keep just running him out there hoping for a different result at this point.
  13. Because Leury has hit Keller well and Tony didn’t care to change his lineup after that news he was pushed back. So expect him out in the OF tomorrow or TA getting a day.
  14. He’s been bad but it’s also like 10 games.
  15. If even Balta thinks he’s movable, he’s gotta be moveable!
  16. They didn’t give up anything, though. This is McGuires value, which is basically waiver claim territory but nothing more.
  17. CWS, you cant honestly be upset about this deal? We got a lefty reliever with a track record for a dude we were going to have to DFA or phantom IL in the coming days. We also have Perez in AAA, we don’t need 4 MLB catchers . Diekman isn’t anything to get excited about and don’t love the $4M in 23, but it’s a fine move.
  18. Yes I got that far. Lost me at Lord of the Rings. May be a hot take to some, but I’d have to be paid a hefty hourly wage to subject myself to that theater.
  19. I suspect they'd slow play this another couple weeks so they could keep him in AAA until September. BTW - is the roster maxed out in September at 28 or 30? Cannot remember that rule change with the CBA.
