If that is the case, why bother sending him to AAA at all? Send the dude on a plane by himself to Nashville to DH Friday night, and then call it good? Obviously he "got sick" on Saturday, but the decision making doesn't make much sense if they activate him today. But obviously that is what I am hoping for because the other alternative isn't a good one.

I just don't get this huge opposition to Gallo by some. He's a far better option in RF against RHP than Gavin Sheets, and that is the bar to clear. And he shouldn't cost much to acquire. What's the harm? Cutting into Pollock's playing time against RHP in which he's produced an 65 wRC+ this season?

According to Hahn's latest statement, the hope is he'll be back in September. But he definitely caveated that it is no guarantee.

A low level pitching prospect rated between 20-30 in a bottom 5 farm system in the game that is widely considered pretty terrible after the top 15 or so isn't very much. I doubt he’s a major leaguer but I’ve enjoyed following Payton this season. Dude plays everyday and has gotten the job done. I know September rosters aren’t as expanded as they used to be, but fuckina, depending on how the roster looks at that point I’d give him a 40 man spot over some of the trash relievers that somehow are still on it.
