  1. If a loss today is enough for Tony and Menechino to get canned over the break, it’s probably in our best interest. Of course 1 game shouldn’t dictate the decision, but yeah.
  2. They’re just gonna IL Rees is my guess. Maybe they can flip him for a live arm for someone desperate for catching help. I’d be surprised to see them move on from Zavala at this point, tho I do suspect regression is gonna hit hard soon on Seby.
  3. Don’t stop now, boys! You bet your ass I’ll be there again tomorrow.
  4. Leury over Engel in RF with a lefty on the mound is a joke. Other than that, guess the rest makes sense.
  5. Anyone with half a brain wouldn't do that. No offense.
  6. He can't play 3B and Moncada is a far superior player and we have enough DHs. We've been over this. Jake will get his chances, but there is no PT for him right now because he can't play a position.
  7. Not really. While they’re highly Unlikely to actually sweep the Twins, 2 games over .500 at the ASB is still wildly disappointing compared to what this team should and was expected to do.
  8. Just option him and stop burning needless service time. He doesn’t have a role right now.
  9. Let’s strive mightily to win this one boys. I’ll be in attendance with my better half and my old man tonight. Go Sox!
  10. TBF, Seby hasn't exactly been great that either.
  11. I thoroughly enjoyed watching that in person. Back tomorrow!
  12. His real name is like Bruce or Alan or some shit. MLB network did a bit with him after his 3 homer game last season and aired it out.
  13. And the bolded is precisely why a change in the dugout needs to be made. I agree TLR probably stays the manager through the season, but you cant ignore the clear narrative change the last week or so. Tony has legitimately no one left in his corner besides JR.
  14. You simply cannot give up on Eloy. He is due $10.3M next season, hardly a crippling sum. You just have to hope he can focus on getting in shape over the winter, stay healthy and a new hitting coach unlocks his potential. Its still in there offensively. Trading him for legit pennies on the dollar makes no sense. He needs to be the DH tho, which means Abreu probably has to go.
  15. Ehhh....I don't think its unreasonable to expect all the players you just listed that are under control for 2023 (Yas, Yoan, Eloy, Lynn, Kelly and even Leury) to be better in 2023 than they have YTD in 2022. Wil they all earn their contracts in 23? Unlikely, but I wouldn't be shy to wager they'll all produce positive fWAR in 2023. So while the overarching point is still valid - plenty of poorly allocated dollars - really none of these guys are killing the Sox unless 2022 version of Yas is who we get moving forward. Even Lynn has been FAR better than his numbers indicate.
  16. Yeah honestly another body just gives Tony more options to fuck with. Obviously playing a man short isn’t ideal, but Haseley shouldn’t be playing over Engel, Pollock, Sheets or AV anyway. Plus Tony probably gonna get Leury a start or two in LF.
  17. He wouldn’t and shouldn’t play over the options on the current roster anyway.
  18. Yep. Mostly back to flailing at sliders out of the zone and chopping the hittable pitches into the ground. Would love to see a full season of healthy Eloy with a new hitting coach, but there just isn’t much of a chance of that happening at this point.
  19. My guess is he’s fine. It didn’t look too bad. Perhaps he’ll sit out this weekend but I’m sure he’ll be fine post ASG. Not that his inclusion in the lineup has been a net positive.
  20. There is no point for the Sox to trade him. Just hope he decides to work hard this offseason.
  21. Far from an “albatross”. Not ideal if he can’t play more than a month a season but it’s not really not that bad.
