I would agree here. He seems miserable; rarely see him smile. Don’t watch a ton of west coast ball as I am generally early to sleep but I doubt he was this lifeless on LaD. If this story is true, wouldn’t be shocked if he was at the center of the turmoil.

Balta said Gio was a salary dump like a week ago. Spent all offseason promising everyone Sox couldn’t trade Kimbrel without eating most of his contract. He’s gonna take the most negative stance on trade value possible on all Sox. Of course teams would trade for Gio and Lynn. They’d be extremely sought after if put on the market. They won’t be on the trade market tho.

You’re not signing a reliever as good as Hendriks and probably not Graveman, both under control past 22. You’d also be selling Lynn at much less than peak value with 2023 control as well. I don’t see any scenario this FO punts 2023.

Heads should definitely roll if this team - with a franchise record payroll and one the FO and org without a doubt thought would win the division going away - goes under .500.

Is sitting Pollock really make this a trash lineup? It’s basically what we’ve seen all season. Giving Eloy a day is fine. I don’t want to see Leury any more than anyone else, but this isn’t an egregious lineup.

I don’t think I’m gonna watch this one. And I don’t know that I can say I’ve missed an entire Sox game when it was accessible (not a plane; or without service) in several years.
