He literally just went 5-6 in the game prior to the tweaked hammy. He needs to play if he can, not take time off to get his head straight. Sox can still retroact to Sat even tomorrow.
  2. I don’t think that last sentence is necessarily accurate based on the health of the team and the schedule to date. It’s not a stretch at all to think the Sox best days of 2022 are ahead of them. But absolutely none of it matters if they play .500 or worse ball against MN and Cleveland.
  3. It could be something. He always gives good info in these meetings. I wish they were live-streamed. But just the mere existence of it doesn’t mean bad news is certain to be forthcoming.
  4. They won’t be moving on from Eloy anytime soon. He’ll get plenty more chances after future injuries that are certain to occur. Sox should, on the other hand, expect to be without Eloy for long and frequent stretches of the next 2.5 seasons and plan the roster accordingly. At this point, any real sustained production from Eloy should be projected as a luxury. It sucks; but it’s reality.
  5. He meets with the media the first game of most, if not all, home stands.
  6. While this is typical for the first game of a home stand, let’s hope Josh Harrison is the main topic of discussion.
  7. I’d love to end the Harrison experiment today; if you don’t today you pretty much have to in a couple weeks anyway. But I think a Yoan IL stint is most likely.

    Injuries

Id be surprised if they sent Haseley back down after 1 day. Not many options tho. Also don’t really see how they send down Mendick at this point. Also missing Foster coming back next couple days.
  9. A couple solid relievers and a lefty stick that can cover 2B and LF/RF would be ideal. I don't think this team has earned a big splash.
  10. Thanks Balta. So he didn't exactly say he's going to be dealing with it for the rest of the season; just for a bit, which is understandable. Yep - he definitely did not have his A stuff last night. But he was still pretty darn good, and 2 fly balls that get caught in 2 parks away from probably starting the 6th with 1 ER.
  11. The telecast last night said this is something Kopech will be dealing with all season. That was the first I heard that. Is this true?
  12. Interesting note on Romy, too.
  13. Harrison may actually be safe until Eloy returns. Rosters are set to go 13 position player / 13 pitchers on Monday and Sox have been rolling with 12 position players lately.
  14. I think the players have fun with it, but still try. THe numbers still count and certainly are not asterisked at seasons end, so most of them swing away.
  15. Why do position players always just lob it? Very rarely do you see one go up there and actually to try to pitch.
