  1. Gavin Sheets lives on. Can't wait to get that bum off this roster.
  2. Moncada was a poor 2B and is a very good 3B. I think its fair to assume he'll be worse than both of those guys at 2B, yes. Certainly Harrison.
  3. Sox defense already sucks. Further downgrading 2 defensive positions isn't the answer to what ails the Sox.
  4. This. Leury has been grossly overused the last couple seasons, but injuries will do that. He's just been healthy, something he generally hasn't been in the past. $5M AAV is chump change, and while it may be an overpay of $1-2M, its really fairly insignificant in the grand scheme of things. Could those dollars have been better deployed? Yeah, sure. But its really not that big of a deal. None of this is to say that Leury hasn't been awful. He has been. But he's a fine back of the bench utility player on a contender. He just hasn't been used that way because the FO didn't sign a capable 2B. He's only played 35 innings in the OF this season, so while you could add not signing a RF into that comment, it doesn't hold that true YTD 2022. I think (know) Larussa loves him, which is really the problem.
  5. Mendick, Vaughn 1B, Robert, Abreu DH, Burger 3B, Pollock, Grandal, Engel, Harrison
  6. It’s a fine lineup but anything that has Danny Mendick batting lead off is hard for me to call the best lineup of the year.
  7. Because he’s an elite 3B. Moncada isn’t moving to 2B. This isn’t a video game.
  8. Huh? McGuire isn't in the lineup and Burger and Pollock are.
  9. What makes you think this will be any different than all the previous games Sheets has played? Since mid-May, he is 8/50 with 1 xhb and 0 RBI. He's awful.
  10. Because TLR can't fathom managing 2 games well on back to back days.
  11. Per multiple sources. Has some MLB experience. Likely will signal the end of the Severino or Mercedes era on the 40 man when Lance returns next week. 31 years old, so Sox must really like the arm. White Sox Claim Parker Markel From A’s - MLB Trade Rumors
  12. This. Lance last pitched Friday and is pitching again tonight. That would put him on schedule to pitch in the Detroit series next week. I would imagine they wouldn't get too cute with TA in AAA, so I imagine he'd only get a couple games of rehab, probably be available for the series in Houston, or at the very least, the beginning of the next homestand. Eloy a bit more of wildcard IMO. He's still not playing full games in AAA, but I doubt he'd be much behind TA, if at all. Like you said, I would guess all will be back in under 2 weeks, barring set backs.
  13. Yeah. The way the Sox have handled Kopech is literally awful, starting with the unnecessary call up in 2018 that lead to disaster. But we are where we are and he's really fucking good. That said, he's going to need some rest at some point this summer. I don't see him going much beyond 120 IP in the regular season, and he's on pace for more like 150 IP, so something is going to have to give at some point.
  14. Kopech is going to be one of the best pitchers in the game for a while. Been saying that for some time.
  15. Segura is hurt and out for months. Brandon Drury makes some sense tho.
  16. There isn’t a single chance in hell the Sox trade Tim Anderson.
  17. Don’t believe Grandal has caught Kopech this season. Probably won’t tonight either.
  18. Good for the knights. Their pitching is dreadful.
  19. Sox did more than fine on the Sale trade.
  20. TBF, that scenario sounds hell of a lot better than not watching any interesting baseball all season. I have the sickness - I won’t be able to look away even though I know I should. So I’d much rather see that play out than more of what we’ve seen.
  21. Probably just bringing up Martin to piggyback VV or visaversa.
