  1. This was definitely bummers fault. He can’t score runs but he can not walk the world.
  2. That pitching is going to catch up to them at some point. ITs been really good, and that won't continue. Ober went down today as well with a groin issue.
  3. Twins win their 7th in a row today tho....at least they have the Rays this weekend. Need a big weekend for the Rays.
  4. Kind of a tough few days for McGuire behind the plate tbh. Dude needs to be amazing back there to tolerate the bat.
  5. Career 1.5 WHIP might have something to do with it. I agree Ruiz is a perfectly acceptable low leverage middle reliever. I was never calling for his head like some. But he also isn't great or anything.
  6. Sheets is Palka. Palka is Sheets. When Yoan comes back, send him down to Charlotte to get everyday at bats until there are everyday at bats for him here. There shouldn't be on Yoan and Luis are back. People actually wanted to trade AV because of Sheets. Woof.
  7. I have no problem giving Burger some reps at 2B when Yoan comes back if he’s still stinging the ball. I doubt it’ll be pretty but I’d give it a shot. Vaughn should only play there in emergency situations.
  8. Back to back rainouts again would be a disaster. 15% chance of rain tomorrow, so not sure what you're looking at.
  9. I think if the Sox had an OF worth a damn on the 40 man, they probably would have. Haseley was already here at the time. Seems pretty clear to me that when they option Haseley back, they thought Robert would be ready this series. He clearly had a minor set back.
  10. Why anyone routinely reads and posts on this board while 1) not having 2 Gun Pete on ignore; and 2) actually trying to discuss anything with him, is well beyond my comprehension.
  11. I hated Ricky's management style with a passion. I would accept him back with open arms right now. At least he was a good and likeable guy. Of course, I'd rather they just hire someone competent to run a team with championship aspirations in the year 2022.
  12. Vaughn is going to be a better LF than Burger. Cmon. AV has looked pretty bad out there in his small sample so far in 22. But he was fine out there last year and will be again. He isn't winning any GG, but he graded out above average in LF last year (remember, most LF aren't good) and he likely will again if given the chance. I hate the idea of Burger at 2B, but you almost have to try it upon Yoan's return.
  13. McGuire has caught every one of Kopech's starts. That appears to be thing. Yaz (I don't think) has caught a day game after a night game either.
  14. Pineda might have something to say about that. Dude has been big for awhile, but looks like he put on about 50 this offseason.
  15. Id keep him around he wants to keep playing. He’ll heat up with the weather like he always does. But he needs to be prepped for a real pay cut. He’s a $10-12M AAV guy at this point.
  16. Yoan is a far better player than Burger. But if Jake keeps hitting like this he’s got a spot on this team. Isn’t gonna be 3B tho.
  17. It appears to me that TLR got neutered a bit. We've seen 2 of the most sensible lineups of the season the last 2 games. I am hopeful that the lineup games are over for the time being and Burger and AV will be in the lineup tomorrow, along with the return of Luis. TA SS, Vaughn LF, Robert CF, Yaz DH, Abreu 1B, Pollock RF, Burger 3B, pick one of the 3 shitty options at 2B, McGuire C should be the lineup tomorrow. Switch in Sheets for Yaz at DH if you must, that'd be fine.
  18. Back on your Grandal bullshit eh? He's been bad in this tiny sample, but he was worth 3.7 fWAR in 93 games last year with an also horrid start. .420 OBP. Yaz will be fine offensively, eventually. He's far from a "sunk cost"
