Nah...MLB just likes to make an example out of TA, for some reason. I'd say TA has a pretty good grounds for an appeal between those 2 and the Senzel finger. How do those 3 guys get off with that, but a simple flick of the middle finger gets TA a suspension? Straw should get a few games for instigating a fight with a fan. Sure they were talking some shit, but from the video that is going around, its fairly vanilla. The beer throwing didn't happen until later on.

Are we sure the Sox clubhouse is in good standing at the moment?

I doubt Baldelli headed over to the Sox clubhouse after the game to personally apologize for the bat flips.

White Sox drop from 13th to 16th in MLB Power Rankings

Sure, those are more worthless. Power rankings in general are just dumb. Just a means for clicks. Go look at the standings. -
White Sox drop from 13th to 16th in MLB Power Rankings

Right. I cannot think of a more useless thing than power rankings in mlb baseball in april. -
I'd take the multiple playoffs. But I probably wouldn't watch much baseball if I knew the outcomes. I know that wasn't the hypothetical, but you just gotta get in and you never know. Honestly, best case scenario is probably Sox win the WS this year in spite of LaRussa and he rides off into the sunset with another ring, and Sox reset with a new staff next season.

Do we know if the $4.2M is truly prorated (ie: he is on roster for 30 games he gets (30/162)*$4.2M=$777,777), or is the $4.2M guaranteed for the rest of the season as of the day he is activated, even if he only makes it a month or two on the roster.

This. I can never root against this team. I would probably take another couple losses in a row if meant a midseason change, but know its a pipe dream so I'd rather they just win.
-
While I agree TLR is going nowhere, Sox don't really have the luxury to let 2022 slip away. We've got 2 seasons before the core starts to disintegrate.
-
Yep. Unfortunately that is kind of the case for all three of the elite offensive prospects from the rebuild.
-
The fan base theoretically has a hand in this. He should be getting worn out to no end from Sox fans this homestand. Hopefully the media turns up the pressure too.
-
Its midseason. Going to be tough to find an external guy at this point. If we're lucky enough that TLR gets fired or asked to step down (again, fantasy land) - it'll be McEwing on a interim basis. Then hopefully the org does a real managerial search in the offseason.
-
another couple weeks of suckitude from Leury and Big Energy, and think you gotta try him out.
-
There was some chatter about Justin Jerschele being a future big league manager in the past. He’s at Birmingham right now. I could see him getting added to the staff in this fairytale scenario, but doubt they’d give him the manager role.
-
Ahhh think I misread your post.
-
I agree with Tray about almost nothing but do agree this team is less interesting without Eloy. His offensive talent is so tantalizing. But he certainly wasn’t interesting in his short samples in 21 and 22.
-
If TLR got canned mid season, it would almost certainly be McEwing interim. Which is fine. Still a huge improvement. Then hire some fresh blood next offseason. But this is all a pipe dream.

Stone Pony defending Larussa not walking Buxton on Twitter saying it was the right plan to try K Buxton, then walk Arraez to go after polanco. Crazy.
-
You do. It was a no brainer. Engel scores on a Double. Yaz doesn’t. Plus the defense and Yaz is unlikely to bat again regardless. It was a horrible decision and maybe McGuire handles the passed ball better that took away the DP.
-
Even if the question is asked, they just accept the horrible responses. Push harder FFS. This is managerial malpractice.
-
So with a 6-2 start you still couldn’t get up to watch this team? That convinced? It’s obviously been a week from hell and injuries since the lockout ended are absolutely insane. But this team is still plenty talented to win this division handily even in spite of TLR. I hate Tony with a passion and agree he was an awful hire, and I’ve felt that since day 1. But assuming this team can shake this malaise in the next couple weeks, we should be fine even if the Sox don’t do the right thing and move on from LaRussa asap.
-
It would be nice if the reporters that cover this team actually put his feet to the fire a bit. He should be getting roasted daily for this past week. It’s just horrible managing. A casual fan could have done a better job.

I don’t think Hahn is shrugging this off. I think he’d love to can TLR. Problem is it’s not his call and JR will never allow it. That was some painful shit. Went to all three this weekend. Saw that one coming. Larussa with 3 big mistakes in the 9th. Not pinch running for Yaz was dumb. No reason to not pinch run Engel on that spot. McGuire maybe stops that passed ball. Then not checking on Liam when he was clearly hurting, but worst of all - why in the flying fuck do you face Buxton there!?’?! You’re on a tough spot regardless but you set up the DP, get forces everywhere, Aarraez is super unlikely to homer. It makes less than no sense. Please for the love of god give us a new manager on Tuesday.
