  1. Vaughn will be in LF full time by mid May when Eloy has his first date with the wall. Sooner or late they’ll learn he can’t play there and stay healthy.
  2. Shrug. Little different circumstances but yeah. I certainly like 4/$75M better than 5/$100m too. I wouldn’t lose him over it personally, but easy for me to say. Definitely has the Machado vibes, so I get that angle for sure.
  3. I don’t think either of those things have any relevance whatsoever. The Sox have clearly offered players contracts over the grandal one.
  4. Here last night. He did insinuate that he wasn’t sure if the offer was still on table. But it’s not like the sox have signed someone else to fill that need in the meantime.
  5. I don’t think this is really how transactions work in real life. Sox wouldn’t risk losing Conforto to another team over trying to negotiate a couple million out of the Kimbrel sweepstakes. Jimmy says Sox offered Conforto 4/$75M range. I’m sure Conforto is still trying to get 5/$100M Castellanos got. It’s a game of chicken right now waiting for someone to blink. Thankfully Sox don’t appear to have much competition.
  6. That is alot of $ for Trevor Story. Hopefully removes 1 of 3 realistic options for Conforto other than us.
  7. So basically Sox and Rangers then. Sure seems there for the taking. I would be absolutely astonished to see Cleveland hand out this kind of contract and he may not even be able to play games in NY.
  8. Can he even play in Toronto as a (rumored) anti vaxer?
  9. Crochet straight up for 1 year of Manaea would be just a brutal move.
  10. Sheets was on the roster when he said that. Look, is it possible the Sox don’t sign Conforto? Of course. But there is hope until he signs elsewhere. That’s all I’m saying. Don’t have hope if you don’t want it.
  11. I believe there is hope yes. Hahn said at the outset of the offseason that making the lineup more balanced was a main priority. They haven’t done that.
  12. Waiting is fine if they just sign Conforto. If Kimbrel deal has anything to do with ability to sign Conforto, waiting means you’re gonna miss out of him if you wait much longer.
  13. No way to stream this one? Would love to watch some baseball this afternoon.
  14. I agree. But Sox do have clear weaknesses and they were exposed 2 years in a row in the playoffs and they’ve done nothing to address it YET. As I’ve said 100 times, I’ll wait to see the whole roster before I make final judgements. I’d be shocked if this was the roster they roll with.
  15. Two of their best offensive pieces in Donaldson and Garver. Their best 2 SP in Berrios and Pineda. Other than that, not much!
  16. I’ll save the pitchforks until we see what the roster look like.
  17. Nah not really. Not surprised to see that be your take tho. I’d say they’re 1 ace, 1 mid rotation SP and a couple solid pen arms away from a WC contender. They look pretty .500ish right now to me. And that assumes Buxton and Correa stay healthy.
  18. The twins have 1 mid rotation SP, an interesting young guy in Ryan and complete garbage for the other 3 SP. And their pen is not good. They’re still bad.
  19. 1. Byron Buxton 2. Alex Kirilloff 3. Max Kepler Last I checked 3 OFs start. They also have Larnach and Rooker, the former of which is a legitimate prospect. Rooker not so much, but we're talking about a 5th OF here. Could they trade Larnach in a package for Montas? Yeah sure. They still have 4. Michael Conforto never made a lick of sense for the Twins.
  20. Oh he’s gone for sure. But taking back Price is what I was referring to. Dude makes 2x what Kimbrel makes. That doesn’t make any sense.
  21. This makes no sense. Just keep Kimbrel at that point.
  22. They are out of reach. Sounds like a fantasy land to me. But it sure would be something!
  23. I think Castellanos deal was good news. Perhaps unfair because careeer numbers don’t bear it out, but Nick C is widely considered the better bat, had a much better 21 and was projected to get a bigger deal than he did / bigger than Conforto. I don’t see anyone out there giving Conforto 5 years right now. If I were Sox I’d just offer the same deal and be done with it, but this is the Sox here. Just how they roll.
