  1. I think both Bellinger and Lux are super unlikely to be involved. But Lux would be amazing. Eat $5M of the deal, get Lux, and then go sign Conforto.what a squad that would be.
  2. I look forward to the handful of people that continually say it’s never gonna happen crawling back into their caves when it does. He has very limited suitors at this point. Have the Sox (annoyingly) played the long game here? Absolutely. But I still think he’s a Sox before it’s all said and done. 4/$78M. If it doesn’t happen, oh well. life goes on. Sox still really good, but this offseason will have been an objective failure unless Hahn pulls some rabbit out of his ass with Kimbrel/LAD/Bellinger which I think is a pipe dream.
  3. I’ll take the over, but this is a really good line. I’d take under 120 on both individually easy.
  4. More like 2 SP and half a bullpen. Their rotation is still trash. Sonny Gray, Joe Ryan, Bundy, Ober and Dobnak is a brutal rotation. Even if they trade for Montas - which frankly I expect they will - it’s still really bad. Their bullpen isn’t much better. They’re a ways away from actually being good still.
  5. What was the ask from the cubs to LAD again for Kimbrel? Remember hearing it last summer.
  6. I could definitely see LAD happening, but not expecting much in return. Just hope that cash does get us Conforto. I’d be jaw to the floor shocked to see them hand us Bellinger. But I’d sure love that! Haha
  7. lol i will be awe if Hahn can flip Kimbrel for Bellinger. Seems so far fetched imo.
  8. That’s why you trade Kimbrel and reallocate the funds. Seems pretty obvious you’re not a Conforto guy. That’s cool. Hope you’ll be disappointed at the Sox improving vastly in the next week or so!
  9. Why tho? It’s not your money. $5M AAV is nothing. He makes this team so much better.
  10. Hard for me to understand why any Sox wouldn’t want Conforto. At 5/$110M plus…I guess I get it. But 4/$75-80M….I truly wouldn’t get why anyone would be opposed. He makes this team alot better in several ways.
  11. I do too. I want to keep him. He’s great depth. But there isn’t a chance in hell I’m sitting AV for him consistently. One is going to be an offensive star in this league. The other a useful platoon bat.
  12. Those 150 hand selected great matchup at bats tho!!!
  13. Hes better than nothing. But not sure how the org would come the conclusion of Nick C over Conforto. But they’ve made puzzling decisions before!
  14. Nope. Sox aren’t sitting AV on the bench 5 days a week to play Gavin everyday. Sorry.
  15. Right. Sox needed RP. Got 2 solid ones. I don't consider the $16.5M they spent on RP squandering at all. If you want to b**** about that, b**** about the long list of guys who could be in our bullpen and most of them all flamed out. Burdi, Tyler Johnson, Bernando Flores, Ian Hamilton, Alec Hansen, Caleb Frare, Ryan Burr, etc., etc
  16. The best thing about Conforto, in my opinion, is that shitty 2021. Without it, he's probably already signed a deal around what Freeman got. The shitty 21 allows the Sox to get a potential bargain. Everyone here seems worried about Colas and Cesepdes, but guess what - if Conforto bounces back to his 17-20 self, he's a bargain around $20M AAV. Now the SOx have the ability to pick and choose who to trade between Colas/Cespedes and Conforto. Good problems to have.
  17. You're not signing Conforto for his hitting against lefties tho. The Sox offense takes a large step back against RHP, especially good ones. We will see alot of that in the playoffs. This lineup badly needs to improve in that regard and Conforto goes a long long long way to do that. Sox having plenty of sticks that absolutely mash lefties. Shit, just sit Conforto on the bench against lefties and let Engel or Leury get some PT. I get the concern about handing Conforto 5/$110M. I definitely prefer something closer to the Yaz deal. But not sure ~$4M AAV and 1 guaranteed year is worth losing him over.
  18. That's fair. I would have taken him too. Problem is, he hasn't been an option since November. IIRC, Sox were in on him.
  19. What 2B would you have selected? The FA market wasn't exactly flush with good options.
  20. Hernandez was so bad with the Sox, I don't care what his metrics say. I'd happily take a player who's cherry picked stats may say he's slightly worse than Cesar just to try something else. They tried Cesar. He was fucking awful and they rightfully cut his ass instead of paying him $6M. The people that are bitching about it would be bitching about picking up the option or resigning him for less. It is what it is. Guy sucks and I am glad he's not on the roster. Again - I feel like i've had to say it hundred times - this isn't a defense of Harrison or signing him. I am completely underwhelmed by that move. But assuming they do the right thing in RF, its whatever. I personally never expected anything but a stopgap player at 2B.
