  1. Nothing to do with keeping Cesar on this roster is defensible. He didn’t fit in. Wasnt the guy. Now that isn’t necessarily a defense of Harrison, but I’ll roll with the ball of energy and spark plug over the drone that is Cesar Hernandez.
  2. Joc Pederson is a horrible RF. Continue to live under your dark cloud. I’ll wait to see how the rest of the offseason plays out. Even if the Sox stupidly role with Vaughn and Sheets in RF, they’re still easily a top 3 lineup in the AL. So yeah, jump off the ledge if you’d like. I won’t stop ya. I’ll sit back and watch 95+ wins and w 3rd straight playoff performance.
  3. And defensively, he added to the dumpster fire. Bad fit.
  4. What, exactly, right fielder, is cheap, and in their last year, before, free agency? Those things, generally, are not consistent, with, one another.
  5. Joc Pederson sucks. How exactly are the Sox up any creek without a paddle? They have fucking all stars or recent top 25 prospects at 7/9 positions and 4 TOR SPs.
  6. Woof. That's a contract I am happy the Sox didn't touch.
  7. And $18M less to invest in the team. The offseason isn't over.
  8. Its spilled milk at this point, but clearly the Sox didn't like Rodon's medicals and didn't see the risk of an $18M as a good one. This is the same guy that failed to go past 5 innings after a mid July start, and only mustered 9 starts in the season's second half. Me thinks the Sox know a little bit more about Rodon than the other 29 clubs. Me also thinks the Giants are going to regret that deal pretty much immediately.
  9. Minor, 34, is headed into the second season of a two-year, $18MM contract originally signed with Kansas City. He’s due $10MM this season, plus a $1MM buyout on a mutual option for the 2023 season. MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand tweets that the Royals are covering that $1MM buyout. Bobby Nightengale of the Cincinnati Enquirer adds that Kansas City is also covering $500K of Minor’s salary. That leaves the Reds on the hook for about $7.3MM in additional salary commitments, when factoring in the projected $2.2MM (via MLBTR contributor Matt Swartz) that would’ve gone to the arbitration-eligible Garrett.
  10. Yeah, don't get it. But they just took on like $8M in that deal.
  11. Hey look, Reds adding salary when I was told yesterday there was no way the Reds would be taking back contracts (even tho they'd be dumping lots of it with that I proposed!) Good stuff Puzzling move tho
  12. Yep. Not all hope is lost brother. Hang in there.
  13. Put Conforto in there instead of Sheets and there is no way it not a top 3 lineup in baseball. Without Conforto, its probably more in the 4-6 range.
  14. Prob just talking him up to try to get a morsel of value out of him next couple weeks.
  15. That is not what he said. Would recommend listening to it.
  16. By what tho? $1-2M AAV? Its somewhat irreleveant. Those $1-2M do add up and I get that, but the money Hahn has spent on FAs this offseason isn't stopping anything.
  17. Scenarios I've dreamed up in my head? Coming from the guy that dreams up worthless mental rosterbation scenarios everyday to try to prove to everyone here he is the smartest guy in the room, and could do a better job than the FO. You're insufferable dude.
  18. According to who? Please still the 8-9 rosters better than the Sox. This is a wild take.
  19. Ahhh. Understood, thanks for clarifying. My misunderstanding. The Sox are going to sign an OF. It might not be the one we want, but they're going to sign one. Then one of Eloy, Vaughn and Sheets DHs. SO yes, we still have a boatload DHs and point remains.
  20. That's fair. But looking at AAV for this year while dismissing the rest of the contract is cherry picking and dismissing an enormous part of the calcullus. Sox needed RP. They signed 2 solid relievers and a swing man. Ray thinks he could have chosen better? Shocking development. Sox needed a 2B. They signed someone I don't love, but he at least plays good 2B and is a sparkplug and the FA market didn't have many options. I never expected the 2B signing to be a splash. Harrison is a perfectly acceptable 2B and 9 hole hitter IF IF IF IF IF Sox sign Conforto, who by the way, is still available. Kimbrel is still on the rsoter, but they still have a few weeks to trade him. He'll get moved. Honestly, I am not excited about the Sox offseason to this point. I have a hard time understanding what they're trying to accomplish. But we're dealing with an incomplete picture. The order of the deals is somewhat meaningless, even if its hard to see through the trees at this point. If this is the roster they break camp with, b**** away. But we're weeks away from that. And by the way, this roster is still one of the best in baseball and will win this division going away.
  21. Can you read? Nowhere did I name SHeets the starting LF. Not once in my life have I suggested Sheets play LF. I said Vaughn should be the LF. Which he should be. Sox are fucking dumbasses if they run Eloy out in LF everyday. He'll be on the IL in no time, and decent chance he brings one of Robert, TA and Moncada with him. Dude is a DH. Time for Sox and Eloy to accept it. He's only valuable when hes in the lineup, and DHing is the best way to keep him there. The Sox need to sign a real RF. Schwarber is not that. Would I prefer Schwarber to standing pat? Sure. But until Conforto is signed elsewhere, I will save the whining. I wish others would too.
