  1. I’m glad the Sox didn’t sign Schwarber. We don’t need another DH.
  2. I see things are a lot more chipper in here this am.
  3. He was what, 2 innings over last year? They won’t allow it to vest.
  4. We also have a pretty darn good catcher who was a fantastic signing
  5. Ahhhh. Back to the listening to random Twitter account stage of the offseason. At least it’s better than lockout talk.
  6. Yeah I mean that’s still 2 long years away for most of those guys. 3 for TA. Pito is going nowhere, which is fine so long as they don’t overpay.
  7. He has to throw an awful lot of innings before that even becomes a consideration. There is no chance they’ll allow the option to vest. He’ll be released if need be.
  8. Agreed. It’s been really tough to understand what exactly they’re trying to accomplish.
  9. He won’t be, don’t worry. Just Jack being Jack.
  10. Newsflash: the Sox never have and never will be the Dodgers. The Sox offense IS stacked. Could they use a RF? Heck ya. Was Harrison an ideal add? Nah, not at all. Team is still really good.
  11. Vaughn was a perfectly acceptable LF. It should be his position until he proves he can’t play it.
  12. I find this annoying as well. Its $4M. ITs only $5.5M if hes bought out. I don't know the terms of the 23 option as I don't believe its been made public, but its probably $5-6M.
  13. Agreed. I personally always expected a meh 2B addition. I would have gone with someone else, but I am with you, finish the job and Harrison is a fine 2B batting in the 9 hole. At least he's a solid defender.
  14. Its not even a platoon tho. If you're going to platoon Leury with someone, get a guy like Brad Miller who compliments Leury. Leury should play against LHP, and while Harrison's splits are relatively even, its not like he excels against RHP. Puzzling.
  15. You know I agree. I don't want Castellanos at all. But he's far far far far better than nothing or someone like Joc.
  16. Definitely agree here. Isn't it theoretically possible Harrison was just a bench add and we don't see the overall picture yet? Mendick sucks and shouldn't be on an MLB roster and Romy definitely can still go to AAA. A bench of Leury, Engel, Harrison and any catcher not named Collins is pretty good. The Sox are paying Harrison $4m in 22, not some huge sum - they could definitely still have something larger planned there, even if it looks unlikely right now.
  17. Any OF that regularly includes 2 of Eloy, Vaughn, Sheets and Castellanos would likely be the worst in the league, even with a potential GG in CF (tho Robert was far from that in 21). If the Sox sign Castellanos, I will be happy. But Conforto is an all around better option for team weaknesses, and he's an average RF. Conforto will also very likely be cheaper.
  18. Right!? Tweets are usually what I am scrolling for, not over. The rest is just primarily the same 4-5 negative nancies telling us all why we should be extremely pessimistic about all things White Sox related.
  19. They're dumping $35M in that deal. No one is taking Mous off their hands without some bad contract that isn't quite as bad as Moos going back. Again, just spitballing but it makes some sense of the surface but lots of moving pieces and dollars so probably not realistic.
  20. I mean at that point Harrison just becomes a bench piece, which is probably preferable anyway.
  21. They're giving us a mid rotiation SP with two years of relatively cheap control without giving up much of anything, and dumping Keuchel. That's probably more valuable to the Sox than a prospect at this juncture.
  22. Just spitballing here, but clearly Cincy is just looking to slash payroll. Think we could get Mahle by taking on Moustakas? Something like: Sox give: Burger, Adolfo, and Keuchel ($19.5M). Reds give: Mahle (2 arb years left; should get around $6M) & Moustakas (2 years $38M). Reds dump ~$24M in guaranteed net savings onto the Sox (more like $34M counting Mahle's 23 arb total), plus get an MLB ready replacement for Suarez at 3B, and an MLB ready OF to give some ABs too. Sox might have to add another interesting prospect onto this, but I wouldn't hate it. Not a huge Moos fan, and this obviously means Sox just roll with Vaughn/Sheets in RF as we spent our money on Mahle and Moose, but it certainly makes the 2022 roster a lot better.
