  1. It’s so stupid to not let Colas figure it out. I’m fine to let him earn it for a month or two, but he’s the best internal option in RF for the long term if the org by FAR. Now if you acquire someone like Kjerstad, that changes things.
  2. I gotta see it with my own two eyes before I can actually state that. I watched the Astros a decent bit last year, and certainly in the playoffs, and can't say anything stood out to me. Don't get me wrong, I would not have signed MM - certainly not for $4.25M - and I am not expecting prime Machete, but I am not sure he's actual "worst catcher in MLB" bad at defense yet. Advanced metrics have always been a bit hit or a miss on catchers.
  3. I am not at the point of stating Cease's 2023 is going to stop Getz from getting a monster haul this offseason because I do still think someone will cave to the ask. But in the event that you are going to go into ST with Cease still on the roster, FFS at least spend some of JR's money to bring in 1 more serviceable SP and a decent RF like Duvall, Grichuk or even Gallo on 1 year deals. If you can't even tank for a good pick, may as well try the misfit toys route and see where things stand in June.
  4. I can’t categorize any further influences from the Kansas City Royals as a “very exciting move”.
  5. And all they have to show for it at this point is a cocky fanbase, a first round sweep exit in the playoffs and a current rotation that will have them middle of the pack at best in the east. Congrats!
  6. Stop it, you biased white Sox fan!
  7. The list you’re referring to is old. Schultz will be a consensus top 50 prospect once all lists have been updated.
  8. I think the age matters less than most. Would I prefer he be 22-24? Yah, sure. For me it’s more than he has limited upside, pretty much needs to play SS to have value and our top prospect who isn’t terribly far away plays the same position. I’d be perfectly fine taking Ortiz back as a secondary piece in a Cease deal, but most certainly would NOT value him as a top 50 type prospect at his age and skill set.
  9. If he clears waivers, he can be outrighted to AAA. His options do not reset. I do not believe Remy was optioned last year, so if he were added back to 40 man next season he would still have 3 options. If Sox DFAd him again, he would option to elect FA at that point.
  10. Dipoto up to his BS again. Weird trade
  11. Mayo is a "premium prospect" with "4+ WAR upside", yet Cease a question mark after averaging 4.2 WAR the past three seasons under cheap control for 2 seasons in a market in which mediocre and injury prone SPs are getting $14M+ AAV. This is why no one takes you seriously.
  12. Enjoyable listen, btw. Impressive those dudes were able to get an hour of Passan's time.
  13. Trevor Bauer is POS. But I would definitely sign him if I were the Sox. I mean, realistically, what do they have to lose at this point? 95% of fans already hate them.
  14. 11 days since this was reported, and still not official. I am sure he was just out of country and waiting to do the physical after the holidays, but a little surprised that wasn't taken care of this week.
  15. For sure. I waste plenty of time here. But I am a die hard white sox fan. Its a tad different.
  16. It's going to be comical when Cease goes elsewhere for a ransom and all these O's fans wasted 6 weeks of their life accumulating hundreds of know-it-all posts on a White Sox message board. Only to become more comical when the O's pitching is terrible in 2024.
  17. My price from the O's has increased to Kjerstad, Ortiz, Beavers and Povich due to their p****footing. A Kjerstad, Norby and Povich package would concern me. Both the headliners have serious poor OF/1B risk. We've been down the road so many times. I am willing to take the risk on Kjerstad, but the supporting piece needs to be more well rounded than Norby IMO.
  18. Nothing wrong with this. At least Charlotte will have some SP this year after having basically none for multiple seasons.
  19. There is just absolutely no way you can say that. Very good chance Cease performs better than Cy Grayson's 5 ER in 1.2 IP in game 2 when the O's scored 8 runs but still lost because their SP was dreadful. But yeah, O's offense was brutal in 2 of 3 games. Oh and how can I forget Kremer's 6 ER in 1.2 in game 1. Woof.
  20. Yep, sure worked well when the O's got swept in the playoffs and gave up 21 runs in 3 games.
