  1. The argument that the Sox are punting 2020 because Robert spent two weeks in AAA next season is such a terrible take. If the Sox punt 2020, it’s because they didn’t spend money on legitimate SP and acquire at least one above average position player. Not because their top prospect wasn’t called up the previous season and played like 10 games in the minor leagues to start 2020.
  2. The guy was signed less than a month ago. RELAX
  3. I don't think 200 at bats this August and 2 weeks of at bats next April is going to make any meaningful difference in Robert's 2020 season. And certainly not enough for me to punt control of his 2026 season, when he could very well be one of the best players in baseball.
  4. Jump for joy. Honestly, I'd rather see Palka.
  5. Yah, I'd love to watch Robert right now as as well. But this team sucks, and I am happy to be patient and wait until ~ 4/20/2020 when this team should be significantly better positioned to win baseball games. Good things come to those that wait.
  6. Todd Fraizer is also a CAA guy and he's likely to be dealt soon. Brodie is worse at his job than he already appears if he allows his past life to affect his decisions as a GM.
  7. Just block him. He adds nothing that is worth responding to.
  8. FWIW - Mercedes was also not in the lineup last night. But the 40 man is full, so they probably would have DFA'd someone yesterday if it was him. You also only have 3 OF on the roster currently. Its gonna be Engel.
  9. Or...ya know, the Sox could just enjoy the 7 years of control they have of the kid. He's fairly injury prone. Do you really risk it and offer him something like 10/$150M? Not sure he'd take anything less, and even there you're only getting 3 extra seasons of control and you've taken on WAY more risk. I don't really think Robert is an extension candidate at all at this juncture.
  10. Well of course they don't like it. I am sure Jose would prefer to have his fellow Cuban up playing games with him. But Jose is making $16M this season to play a game. He should probably just keep his mouth shut*. *I didn't hear the quote directly, and its entirely possible that things were lost in translation / taken out of context, and Jose didn't really mean what some are making it out to be.
  11. 14 pitchers and a 2 man bench? I kind of doubt that.
  12. Merkin said yesterday that Anderson will need a rehab assignment before returning.
  13. At this point they have to know the're going to non-tender him this offseason. Stop running him out there every damn day.
  14. Yolmer is so helplessly bad right now. Its sad.
  15. I win the prize of further outlining that you have no idea what you're talking about.
  16. I'll be happy to remind you in a matter of days when he's traded.
  17. Castillo will without a doubt be moved. Teams have to prepare for injuries with the 1 deadline. Castillo, despite being awful for his Sox tenure, has a track record of being a at least a league average bat. Someone will grab him. The return will be boring unless he’s part of a bigger deal, but that’s fine.
  18. Yes....that makes far more sense! My bad!
  19. No way Chapman makes the top 10 with an opt out after this season. The other 9 I would imagine are on it. I still cannot believe that contract Albies signed. Good lord.
  20. Robert almost has to be in top 10 then right??? How does he not make this list of "prospects" in the HM article. Prospects Royce Lewis, SS, Twins Jo Adell, RF, Angels Bo Bichette, SS, Blue Jays Forrest Whitley, RHP, Astros Mackenzie Gore, LHP, Padres Adley Rutschman, C, Orioles Keston Hiura, 2B, Brewers Dustin May, RHP, Dodgers Casey Mize, RHP, Tigers Gavin Lux, 2B, Dodgers Brendan McKay, LHP, Rays Yordan Alvarez, DH, Astros
