  1. I am very against moving Moncada again. I think he's been about as good as we could have hoped at 3B.
  2. anything to get Alonso less at bats is fine with me. I am totally OK with Eloy DHing some, I just want him in the field most of the time. He is young enough that he can still improve out there. He will never be a good OF, but things get a whole lot easier if he can at least be a passable LF for the next 4-5 years.
  3. Yah, same. My "insert FA" would be different, but that is my other group of 4, assuming Rodon goes down with TJS.
  4. I'm not sold either. But they are going to give him us 30 starts, and he'll have an ERA in the low to mid 4s. He'll be fine. You could do alot worse than him as your 5th starter, which hopefully is what he is 12 months from now.
  5. Rosario has been struggling to hit for average, but he leads the AL in homers. I wouldn't really expect a ton of positive regression from their of those guys.
  6. The Twins offense is going to cool off. It is still going to be good, but Jorge Polonco is not the next coming of ARod and Cron, Schoop and their catchers are going to cool off. They're the easy favorites for the AL central now though.
  7. Lol. Palka had the 43rd best OPS+ in the American League last year (those over 400 PA). I don't think this guy is the savior and I have no problem with him in AAA right now after his putrid start. But he could be a useful platoon piece as a DH and occasion OF, and he will be back at some point, likely whenever the Sox cut bait on Alonso. Apologies on Daniel banging your girlfriend.
  8. Was Moncada's error bad? I had to minimize my game feed for a bit and missed it.
  9. How do you give Bauers a double there? I know Tilson slipped, but that is an error.
  10. Jordan Guerrero: 7 Starts, 1-4, 8.31 ERA, 2.41 WHIP Jordan Stephens: 6 starts, 2-3, 9.48 ERA, 1.91 WHIP Donn Roach: 6 starts, 0-2, 10.25 ERA, 2.05 WHIP Spencer Adams: 3 starts, 1-0, 8.00 ERA, 2.39 WHIP
  11. This game is now official. I expect it to be delayed here shortly and then called. Would have been so nice to get 3/4.
  12. Timmy really reverting back to his old ways last couple weeks.
  13. Couldn't agree more. Can always make him a full time DH later. I don't mind him DHing on occasion, but making him a full time DH at this age is stupid.
  14. Thanks for clarifying. How much will the sox have left to spend after the Sanchez signing?
  15. The Sox are fully out of the penalty box for this upcoming signing period, correct? And yet they're still not in on any top 30 talent? Why? Is the Yolbert Sanchez deal pretty much announced? Will his bonus count against 2019 or 2018?
  16. I don't think there is any way the Sox allow him to get to 526 at bats in a Sox uni. He'll either be DFA'd or traded before that point. I would hope.
  17. At least Dunn always took his walks. Even when he hit .159 that season in 500 PAs, his OBP was .292.
  18. "Lonzy is a veteran. We just need to keep plugging him in out there. He's a clean up hitter. He's our clean up hitter. He's been having some great at bats lately. Seeing some pitches. Working some count. Real professional. We love Zo." -Ricky, most likely
  19. He actually only needs to 526.
  20. Great analysis. His OPS+ of 110 and WRC+ of 109 in over 415 at bats in 2018 suggests otherwise. He is a limited player, no doubt. But he could be a useful platoon bat in the big leagues.
  21. Daniel Palka will almost certainly be back. OPSing .950 in AAA. OBP over .400. SSS, yes. But so was his awful stretch to start the season. I am not a Palka bobo by any means, but I'd way rather him get the DH at bats than Alonso.
