  1. Interesting idea. I would guess Washington's price would not be cheap. Rutherford and Fulmer, I would do the deal for sure. I'd probably do Gonzalez and Fulmer too. Other combos I would likely pass. Also - my guess is the Sox aren't super interested in Eaton based on the Drakegate, etc.
  2. The steal 40 part of that is just so amazing.
  3. McCanns deal was a straight one year deal correct? No options? Cant believe I’m asking that. I hated the signing. But he has been such a lovely surprise.
  4. My preferred current lineup would be: vs. RHP: Leury CF, Moncada 3B, Abreu 1B, McCann C, Delmonico LF, Anderson SS, Alonso DH, Tilson RF, Sanchez 2B vs. LHP Leury CF, Moncada 3B, Abreu 1B, McCann C, Anderson SS, Castillo DH, Rondon LF, Cordell RF, Sanchez 2B One Eloy returns: vs. RHP: Leury CF, Moncada 3B, Abreu 1B, McCann C, Eloy LF, Alonso DH, Anderson SS Tilson RF, Sanchez 2B vs. LHP Leury CF, Moncada 3B, Abreu 1B, McCann C, Eloy LF, Anderson SS, Castillo DH, Rondon 2B, Cordell RF
  5. At this point there is absolutely zero reason for Alonso to be batting anywhere above the bottom 1/3 of the lineup.
  6. I see no issues with Leury in the leadoff spot. He's the best option on the team.
  7. Its pretty funny that the one guy he hasn't jacked around the lineup much at all (besides Abreu) is Alonso. The guy who has easily been our worst player so far.
  8. He's really nothing like Adam Engel. Like at all.
  9. And they will move on. For now, he's not hurting anything sitting on the 60 day IL.
  10. Moncada 3B, Delmonico LF, Abreu 1B, Alonso DH, McCann C, Tilson CF, Anderson SS, Sanchez, Cordell RF Giolito on the hill versus Jefrey Rodriguez. Appears Ricky has done what Ricky does best. Pick names out of hat with no apparent logic. Let's win this one.
  11. A nice article from fegan on the Athletic yesterday about Tilson. His leg injuries really affected his ability to use his lower half the past couple years and he said he's just this season finally getting the feel back. He looked good yesterday. Happy to give him a look, though I am not expecting a bunch. And that is ok. Give em' hell, Charlie.
  12. I think it'll be two of Tim, Yoan and Jose. Hopefully Tim and Yoan as I don't really have a problem with Jose getting left out. I worry about about Timmy falling off a cliff and his numbers being back in the .275/.300/.430 range come late June. Maybe that's still good enough to make the ASG, but it'd be close. If Timmy and Yoan are both there, that is a very good sign that they've continued to play well.
  13. Nate Jones has a career 3.12 ERA and 3.41 FIP. He was very, very, very good. Unfortunately his body didn't hold up its end of the bargain, and he may very well be done. The Sox won't be picking up his 2020 option at a $5.15M. But Nate has a provided a good deal of value to the Sox over the years.
  14. Most likely unless Hahn tries to get cute and offer him some sort of incentive laden extension with options so he can rehab in the organization he feels comfortable with and isn't faced with signing a minor league deal. I think that Hahn has a fair deal of leverage here, but we'll see. The non-tender route definitely has some merit as paying Rodon $10-11M for at most 30 more starts (many of which will be pretty rusty) before FA seems fairly rich.
  15. Yah Monday-Wednesday games at 610 ET first pitch. I kind of like it, personally.
  16. Garcia CF, Moncada 3B, Abreu 1B, Alonso DH, McCann C, Delmonico LF, Anderson SS, Tilson RF Nova on the hill versus Trevor Bauer. Let's win a game.
  17. Sox certainly won't be picking up their team option next offseason.
  18. Totally fine with Tilson getting another shot, though I don't expect much. I was thinking this may be a bummer for Delmonico - I kind of doubt they add Tilson back to the roster just to DFA him again in a week or less when Eloy comes back. I assumed Tilson was out of options since he's already been removed from the 40 man once. BUT.....it appears the Sox outrighted him off the 40-man that time and did not DFA him due to a lack of options. Tilson still has 1 remaining, so he can be demoted back to AAA when Eloy returns without running him through waivers.
  19. If the Sox gave Charlie Tilson a full season of at bats, I’d be shocked if his OBP was .280, let alone his batting average. And 40 steals? Cmon man. At least try to pay attention.
  20. Tim has reverted back to swinging at some garbage pitches the last week / week and ago or so. Hopefully he can snap out of it. With his inability to take a walk, he really needs to hit like .275 plus to be a meaningful offensive contributor.
  21. Releasing players with options is beyond idiotic. Even if you personally don't think they're any good. No reason to give away assets when you don't need to.
  22. I must have missed that, but definitely hope that is the case. If its not Rodon to the 60 day DL, Jordan Stephens and Kodi Mediros would likely be the first 2 on the DFA / outright off 40 man chopping block, I would imagine.
