  1. I just can't see the Sox being this serious about moving Moncada to 3B, just to have him back to 2B next season when signing Rendon. It doesn't add up at all.
  2. Both puts one of them in the OF with Eloy, which is a bad idea. Neither of them have played an inning of 1B in their MLB career, but I suppose Castellanos played 3B early in his career, so that transition isn't impossible.
  3. Yah its fucked up. No doubt about it. Not saying she made it up, but its not out the realm of possibility. I have no idea, nor do you.
  4. https://www.si.com/mlb/2018/05/16/luke-heimlich-oregon-state Here is the article, which is well worth the read.
  5. This, +100. And to be clear, I am not advocating at all for the Sox to sign him. =
  6. No idea if he did it or not. I read the SI story a year or two ago. Remember feeling very undecided about it after reading. One thing I am certain of - if you're 15 or 16 years old and everyone from your parents, to your attorney on down are telling you that pleading guilty is the right thing to do to move on, and this it will be expunged from your record when you turn 18, you're going to do that. The whole story (whether true or false, no idea which it is), legally should have never come out. He plead guilty for that exact reason. The only reason it came into the public was due to a clerical filing error.
  7. I just threw a number out there without really looking into it. You're probably right. But 5/$110M and 6/$150M is an AAV difference of $3M. Not insanely far apart.
  8. I'd love him too, but not as an OF. So bad out there.
  9. My top personal choice would be Rendon, but with the Sox moving Moncada, I just don't see them jerking him around more. I think that ship has sailed. I'd love to see the Sox opt for a guy like Castellanos over Abreu for DH, but I doubt that'll happen. Here are my guesses for 2020 FA, and the lineup by June 1: Gerrit Cole: 5 years, $110M Grandal: 2 years $45M Abreu: 3 years, $42M Justin Smoak: 1 year, $12M Rotation: Cole, Rodon, Kopech, Cease and Lopez Lineup: Madrigal 2B, Moncada 3B, Eloy LF, Smoak 1B, Abreu DH, Grandal C, Micker Adolfo RF, Anderson SS, Luis Gonzalez CF. BN: Yolmer, Engel, Collins
  10. I am not a big Minaya guy myself, but in the second half of last season he had a 3.18 ERA across 28.1 IP with 34 Ks against 12 BBs. He's nothing special, but you can do alot worse for a middle reliever. If the Sox got rid of every reliever you called a "stiff", they'd have no one left.
  11. Id be fine stacking Covey and Banuelos as a "starter".
  12. Sano getting surgery on the heel he injured while partying. Out until mid to late May. lolz.
  13. Lol, goes yahtzee next pitch. Love it.
  14. I like Laz Rivera's demeanor in the box. Looks like he knows what he's doing and very comfortable.
  15. Personally I'd give him a ton of run in CF and hope he gets off to a hot start and can trade him for something interesting. But I think Engel is going to be the guy in CF 5/7 games.
  16. The minimal value Leury has is the fact that he can play multiple positions. As an OF only, he's worthless.
  17. I’d be surprised if the Sox don’t break camp with Rondon. The alternative is to lose him off waivers.
  18. Its grim, but Jerry is an old man. At some point in the next decade, things will have to change.
  19. Sounds like he is behind schedule. Banuelos is out of options. Makes sense for the Sox to roll with Banuelos to start and see if they have anything and let Santana get some reps in AAA first (assuming his contract allows for that). Could always just put Banuelos in the pen over someone like Frare as well.
