  1. These two will rival the Sox: Mancini, Mullins, Rickard Granderson, Brinson, Peter OBrien
  2. Thats gonna take some getting used to.
  3. Because what else is there to do but b****? Assuming no more major league additions, here is my shot at the OD roster: Catcher: Castillo 1B: Abreu 2B: Yolmer SS: Anderson 3B: Moncada LF: Palka CF: Engel RF: Jay DH: Alonso BN: Leury (out of options), Rondon (out of options), McCann Rotation: Rodon, Lopez, Nova, Giolito, Banuelos (out of options) Bullpen: Colome, Herrera, Jones, Fry, Frare, Covey, Hamilton, Minaya (out of options) DL: Santana Eloy, Delmonico, Cordell and the array of bullpen arms (Ruiz, Vieria, Bummer, Fulmer, Burr, Burdi, Stephens, Medeiros, etc. start in the minors)
  4. I think he's supposed to be ready in early May.
  5. 1. Jerry Distant 2nd. KW for talking out of his ass 3rd. Hahn for telling all of us he wouldn't add stopgaps, and then proceeds to add half a 25 man of stopgaps and not add a single meaningful player to our core.
  6. I live over 400 miles from Chicago, so its hard for me to show my disappointment. I usually make it to Chicago for one series, and attend every game I can when the Sox are in town here in Minneapolis. I will most certainly not be making it to Chicago this season. It won't make any difference, but its the least I can do. I am a Sox addict, so I will likely still watch 140+ games, and attend all the games I can when the Sox are in town (doesn't help the Sox at all). But the organization will not be getting a dime of my money this season.
  7. please vlog this and post it to @whitesox.
  8. I am no longer a Rick apologist, but I put far more blame on ownership than management when it comes to writing never-before-seen check sizes.
  9. The second worst part about this offseason being a massive failure is the Sox have 100% reinforced Balta's constantly negative thoughts and he will be certain to remind us 100x per day for the rest of eternity. Welp.
  10. Well, the Sox have officially doubled down on their ability to develop major league position player talent...something they haven't done well at all.
  11. You trying to convince everyone that Bryce Harper is now an albatross. We get it. Don't need to repeat 77 times.
  12. If I had to guess, I like the Dodgers on like a $330M/14 year deal type structure that has been suggested. Gets the AAV way down for luxury tax purposes. Obviously the opposite of what we've heard that they're interested on a short-term basis only, but this solves their problem more than a short term deal does. Then they just figure out how to rid themselves of him 6-8 years down the line in some salary dump deal.
  13. I was referring to the injury last June that they decided to just rehab. I went back and looked and it appears they categorized it as an "elbow strain"...that ended up costing him the remainder of the season.
  14. Lol, obviously I am not a doctor. But this is clearly a recurring problem with Dunning. I don't recall exact diagnosis from last summer, but doesn't he have a partially torn UCL? This is going to continue to be a problem until he gets it fixed.
  15. Meh...just get the fucking surgery. Clearly his UCL is not right and he's just a ticking time bomb until it snaps.
  16. They player will go wherever they get paid the most. This has been proven over and over and over and over and over in FA. Eloy isn't resigning with the White Sox for a discount in 6 years because they called him up 2-3 weeks earlier. To suggest that would make any meaningful difference is pretty comical.
  17. Yah, I am not surprised you feel that way as it fits your narrative. But the $175M was bullshit and the only people parroting it were Bruce Levine and Bob Nightengale. Everyone else said it was bullshit, because it was.
  18. I know you view everything White Sox related in negative/pessimistic lens, and right now, I've never been closer to doing the same. BUT....the Sox had the 2nd best offer on the table for Machado. They beat 28 other teams. Being runner up means nothing at the end of the day and I fully understand that, but I wouldn't exactly call their offer an " extreme lowball". They offered one of the top 5 guaranteed money contracts in the history of the game with the chance to the be the highest with attainable vesting options, and additional incentives. They just overplayed their hand over the course of a multiple month process trying to get the best deal possible for the organization...and that may have ultimately caused Lazano do not give them the ability the counter the Padres offer. They fucked it right up, and I am the first to admit it. But I don't think "extreme lowball" is fair characterization.
  19. Says probably the only guy on this board that doesn't want anything to do with Harper.
  20. Yah, I don't see it. With Machado...sure. Without? Too many holes.
