  1. Always thought he was awful to be honest. His name butchering was embarrassing.
  2. I've been firmly in the Hahn is playing this correctly, let's be patient camp all offseason. Better to get him for $220-250M than $300M+. But at this point, fuck it - give the man his 10 years and $300 million, and let's move on with our fucking lives.
  3. I see it more like: OF Left to Right: Verdugo/Kike, Pollock, Bellinger IF Left to Right: Turner, Seager, Taylor, Muncy They definitely have the ability to trade one of Verdugo or Pederson.
  4. For real tho. San Deigo is fucking awesome city. Easily one of my favs in the US. But living in CA and paying those taxes would be awful.
  5. I think the $5M buy-out on 2023 in addition to the $55M he is owed 2019-2022. I imagine the Dodgers pick that option up for the incremental $5M unless Pollock is literally unable to play baseball any longer.
  6. He was a reliever for the majority of the 2nd half in AAA last season. I think he's probably a reliever for good with the Sox if they retain him. Also....seemed like this rumor had some major steam for today....seems like its probably not close, like Rosenthal said.
  7. You and your gf live on complete opposite ends of the country? Must be tough.
  8. This dude has been parroting this same BS for weeks. Ignore him. He's a Yankee fan/homer that refuses to believe his beloved team won't spend the money to sign Manny. And for most of his life, he's been right. But everything points to that not being that case here, and the Sox aren't going to let the Yankees get Machado for anything less than $275M, IMO.
  9. I think the need they fit is cheap control. The Dodgers are going to have recurring luxury tax issues for the foreseeable future. Getting more major league ready talent to fill in the roster is probably important to them. I do agree that the rumored return makes a lot more sense for the Sox than the Dodgers, however. But I personally wouldn't give up much more than the rumored return if I were the Sox for a guy that isn't a very good CF, can't hit lefties, and has only two years of control.
  10. They get twelve years of control of two major league ready relievers. Fulmer obviously has not been good the last couple years, but it would be far from surprising to see him be a very good major league reliever. It is in there somewhere. Bummer is meh, I agree, but he's cheap and he's serviceable. I agree now is the right time to trade Rivera from the Sox perspective, but he will all of 2019 as a 24 year old...coming off an .850 OPS season. He is a decent guy to take a chance on for LAD. Definitely one of the Sox top 25 or so prospects.
  11. I highly doubt Hahn is sharing trade details with his sons. Way too much risk in today's day and age.
  12. Two years of control. They just signed a player that displaces him unless they trade Verdugo. Dodgers aren't exactly in a position of leverage. Plus....Fulmer, Bummer and Laz isn't nothing. But I do find it at least mildly surprising a team like the Indians wouldn't beat that.
  13. I mean...technically it hasn't. At least a few people have said Fulmer/Bummer/3rd piece or Laz. Those names have been rumored for a few days now. But yah, no one super credible is saying that. Though raBBit seems to know more than he's shared, and seems awfully confident lately....which may or may not be related to Joc/Manny. Then you also have WSD emoji and Chili's comments...
  14. I have a hard time believing the sox are planning to "surprise" soxfest with a Joc Pederson trade. He is a nice piece of the puzzle if Machado is around, but not that exciting by himself. Saving a Machado announcement for Soxfest....now that I could understand.
