  1. A Cheesy Gordita Crunch was hopefully in the order.
  2. I just took like a 2 hour lunch, hoped I'd jump back on with some real news. Instead all I get is a gif of a dude shaking a large sausage.
  3. This. Not too worried about. Sort of expect Sox to give Abreu a 2 year deal after this season anyway.
  4. Yah, I should have said all new era "on field" caps. And I totally agree. Hate it. As someone who wears a lot on field caps, I hate the logo there.
  5. That’s the small new era patch that is on all Mlb replica hats bro...
  6. Yankees fans will just say they never wanted Machado and that Andujar is better.
  7. With Colome and Herrera already in tow, I couldn't agree more.
  8. I too would have liked him on a 3/$27M instead of Herrera. Don't think we need all three of Ottavino, Herrera and Colome. Sox have a bunch of promising young bullpen arms. They need to give those guys reps in 2019.
  9. Yah, I’d rather have Ottavino at 3/$25M than Herrera on his deal. But I do think Ottavino has a decent chance of not being anywhere near as good as he was in 2018 moving forward.
  10. That maybe eventually happen, but don’t think we’re there yet or he’d be a Chicago White Sox at 8/$250M already.
  11. What does that accomplish for the Phillies tho?
  12. They are paying Tulo and Martin close to $50M this season to play elsewhere, tho.
  13. Shaw played a lot of 2nd for them last season, and could move there permanently if they signed Machado. They definitely need another infielder. They have a gaping hole at either 3B or 2B, and their window is now, though SP is probably a bigger need than another bat. As for the Twins - you're right, they've never handed out a contract like this. But neither have the Sox. The Twins have $0 committed to 2020 payroll. They definitely have the money to sign Manny Machado.
  14. Twins too, they have just as much financial flexibility as the Sox. Rangers and Tigers are rebuilding, and Angels already have a hefty payroll The Brewers are another team that makes sense.
  15. So let me get is straight - you think the reward of getting perhaps $5M more on an average annual basis over the course of a 8-10 year contract (so $40-50M total) is worth risking $200M+? Your math doesn't add up.
  16. I think its pretty safe to say that if a couple of the Dodgers, Cubs, Red Sox, Yankees did not have luxury tax issues, Manny would have signed a contract in excess of Stanton's. And he still may (though I'd be shocked at this point).
  17. Yah, I think its been well established that he would have / could have gotten paid more in a different offseason when certain other teams were in the shopping mood. A little bit of bad timing for MM, no doubt. But he could also sustain a career ending injury playing on a 1 year deal in 2019 and cost himself $200M+. It isn't happening man. I am far more inclined to believe the current offer is 8/$250M as opposed 7/$175M, so that is partially why I am so confident.
  18. And probably significantly more common than most think.
  19. Bet on what exactly? Its not like he's coming off a bad season. Machado is not leaving $200M on the table to play on a 1 year deal for marginally more money than he'd make in 2019 on a longer-term deal, only to hit FA again next winter and go through this process again. There is a zero percent chance he takes a 1 year deal.
  20. No I don't. Literally the only people saying 7/$175M are Levine and Nightendale. Its been disputed over and over and over again by others. I don't doubt the Sox origianlly offered 7/$175M, but I do think they've since offered 8/$250M, or something in that ballpark.
  21. There is no way in the world Manny Machado turns down 8/$250M to sign a 1/$40M or 2/$80M type deal. 0% chance. None, notta, nothing.
  22. I think its as simple as the White Sox originally offered 7/$175M. They've since verbally said 8/$250M is their max offer. No one else is even close. Philly is interested but hasn't given an offer higher than 8/$250M, and MM prefers Chicago to Philly. Manny is still holding out for $300M from someone, and is willing to wait it out for now. He knows the 8/$250M from the Sox will still be there. I think that's all there is to it boys. So we wait to see who says uncle first.
  23. I haven't given up hope on Fulmer. I am hopeful this is the year he turns a corner, and becomes a valuable member of the pen.
