  1. No apologies necessary. Just curious what @Whitesox27 concluded from it.
  2. Correct, I am referring to that neon sign. But Mike seemed to indicate that that sign was in one of the Chicago airports (I don't know one way or the other). Didn't see it blow up, so figured it wasn't accurate, but wanted to ask.
  3. @Whitesox27 I saw a post on your Twitter yesterday that appeared to be a screengrab of Machado's instagram story that showed him in the Chicago airport? Was that actually in the case? Were you able to dig any deeper on that?
  4. Definitely. This is one of the drawbacks of this Machado process taking so long. Perhaps the Sox plan is to just roll with internal option if they fail to sign MM, and I won't fault them for that. But with bolstering the pen to the extent they have and the secondary pieces that have been added, grabbing a guy like Dozier for 1 year / $9M and plugging him in at 3B (or more likely 2B, and moving Moncada to 3B for Madrigal in the future), made a ton of sense IMO.
  5. I hope Charlie Tilson is enjoying his final minutes as a member of the 40 man.
  6. There is basically nothing out there that backs up this take.
  7. Man, was really hoping for some positive news/developments today.
  8. Stanton's AAV was $25M. It will be much higher. Beating Greinke's $34.5M AAV is the hurdle IMO.
  9. I'd prefer $330M to $250M as well. So can't really blame him. Even after taxes, that is enough for like 10 mansions!
  10. Where's he gonna play? They already paid Donaldson $20M for this season, and have Swanson at SS, Albies at 2B and Carmargo hanging around. I agree Braves would have made a ton of sense without Donaldson, but I don't see it now.
  11. I too would like to keep Rondon around. I think the fact that he doesn't have an option gives him a decent chance of sticking. The Sox talked about getting him some OF playing time in winter ball - seems that was more talk than action. He has primarily played 3B in winter ball - 208 innings at 3B, 11 at 2B, 19 in LF, 1 in CF, and 22 at SS. He's also been pretty dreadful with the bat in winter ball. 119 PA, .213/.269/.315 slashline - 2 homers, 5 doubles, 15 RBI, 0 steals, 8/18 BB/K ratio.
  12. I mean I think its pretty fair to say that tweet was rather cryptic and hinting......buuuuut could have just been wishful thinking on his part.
  13. Lol, no messenger being killed. Just looking for something to discuss.
  14. Really no reason for the Twins not to be in the race for either guy as well. They're in a similar payroll situation to the White Sox, though their young players will be hitting arb a couple years before ours. Would be a deviation from their norm to be in play for major FA, but obviously same can be said for the Sox.
  15. Nats, Cubs, Cardinals and even Dodgers don't make much sense. Always thought teams like the Padres, Twins, Brewers, and Angels could jump in if the market tanked that much. But I don't really see any of those teams being a player at the $250M range except for maybe the Padres. Braves would have made some sense before the Donaldson signing.
  16. It is super easy. Click your user name profile in top right corner. Go to ignored users. Type in peavy44. Problem solved. Your life will be better because of it.
  17. And that people he knows who do have inside sources are very confident - could just be Bucket, WSD, Rabbit, etc., - or maybe he has heard more.
  18. Truly is a difference maker. It will make your day better.
  19. Gillaspie is not on the 40 man. So probably not him.
  20. What’s everyones thoughts on the chances right now? I’d go White Sox 80%, Yankees/Phillies 18, field 2%. Feeling like they’re just hammering out final details at this point.
