Man, idk if TA would hit AAA pitching right now. He’s down 0-2 so quick every at bat. Just a brutal fall from grace.
-
My guess isn’t they didn’t want to deplete their organizational depth for a couple appearances. Though losing Erik Gonzalez would be mostly a nothing burger, he does play nearly everyday in Charlotte. Definitely understand the angle, just doesn’t seem to be as big of a deal as some folks are making. Certainly not directed at you Sleepy, but feel that most that got worked up on it didn’t really understand the roster nuances.
-
Sure he did hit that one hard, and has shown a decent willingness to work a count. But he’s been really bad and is taking way too many ABs lately. But yeah, options are limited. Remillard could play some RF. I’d be more than fine to get Colas back up here. Waiver claim, anyone really.

What exactly does Clint Frazier accomplish? I’ve seen enough. Dude blows.

Upcoming Week - Chance to get within 2-3 GB of the Twins
ChiSox59 replied to South Side Hit Men's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I am not overly concerned about 2023. Of course I want to win the division, but it seems more unlikely by the day, even if they keep this group together. In the unlikely they do win the division, this is not a team that is likely to advance. I wouldn't trade Gio for just anything (at this point, anyway) - but if you can get a backend top 100 prospect (or close), ideally a SP, you certainly have to consider it. I think Gio will be in high demand. -

Man, I'd certainly hate to lose the chance to get a long term rotation piece in exchange for 12 or so Giolito starts. Also, should be able to get something interesting for Middleton, and perhaps Reylo. -

This feels like a 4-3 week to me (split in LA; take 2/3 in Oak). Twins could definitely go 2-4. That would get the Sox back to 4.5 GB. -

This team is going to lose 90 plus games...

Thanks for the correction. Point still remains. -

He’s controlled through 2028. Haha. That’s 5 more season. Who knows what could happen. Sox would need to get a historic return to move Robert. -

The August and September schedule are so soft that I don’t think they lose 90 games even if they sell off a few pieces. Could be close tho. -
This Touki cat might be useful, eh boys

Activated with Padilla back to Charlotte.
-
I mean, he's a former 16th overall pick that signed for $2.7M was a regular in the top 50 prospects in the game for a few years and made his MLB debut at age 22. Obviously, the big leagues have not been kind to Touki, but this isn't some random guy. These are exactly the type of dudes that can turn into useful pieces occasionally. Its unlikely - he is out of options, so there isn't much flexibility until you have DFA and likely lose him again, but there is absolutely zero logical reason to complain about a move like this.
-
Sounds like he'll join club tomorrow in pen as a long man / spot starter. Former top prospect. This is one of the guys I thought the Sox should have signed to an MILB this winter to provide some SP depth, so I dig the move for nothing more than an open 40 man spot.
-
There has to be another roster move today right? They need a SP, and I would imagine Scholtens isn't an option with him pitching 2 of the last 3 days.
-
Sosa is hurt. Not sure what is ailing him, but he is on minor league IL and hasn't played since 6/1.
-
Yeah, I am thinking Romy. Would not be too sad if it’s TA tho. I guess there weren’t many other infield options with Sosa hurt and Ramos just starting to play, but this does surprise me a bit.
-
Who is going to start on Monday night? Honest question. Scholtens seems unlikely since he’s pitched Friday and Saturday, and an opener also seems like a poor choice considering recent pen usage.
-
And when he’s good he’s the best player on the planet. If he could just have those cold streaks be just average he’s like a 6 WAR player in 130 games.
-
Best player in the game when healthy, likely.

Just pitiful last couple ABs for Luis
