Saw on the Sox transactions page that Covey was sent on a rehab assignment to the AZL Sox. So we have that to look forward to!

Interesting deal. Basically 3 backend top 100 types, though 2 are seriously injured, and the other has seen his stock drop dramatically in the past year.

I don't really see the point in bringing in vets, except maybe guys on minor league deals that can start in Charlotte and come up if needed.

Former top prospect and 2013 first rounder DJ Peterson DFAd by the Mariners today. With extra 40 man spots, and the Sox with the top waiver spot, I wouldn't be surprised to see them take a chance on him. Still has 2 option years. He's probably toast, but still just 25. What's the harm?

Nice deal. A couple interesting guys that may be a part of the Sox pen in the future. No complaints here. Guessing that is the last trade before the deadline but wouldn't be shocked to see Gonzo go.
