  1. QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 02:00 PM) The Cubs should've paid Chris Sale price for Jose Quintana is my point. And no, not because of "some silly rivalry", but because of the additional revenue and market share loss the Sox will suffer as a result of this trade, all of which is going to go directly to the Cubs. ....for now.....
  2. So we just assuming we'll see Saladino and Gonzalez called up tomorrow for Willy and Q's spots?
  3. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 01:49 PM) He is literally all power and nothing else. Reminds me alot of Telvin Nash currently. But hey.. here's hoping his hit tool comes through. Some of those scouting reports say he is a pretty good defensive 3B. Not sure why he's played so little of it in the minors.
  4. QUOTE (kwill @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 01:32 PM) My second thought. Does anyone ever think about that rumored December three team trade involving the Pirates, Yankees and White Sox? I just wonder was Aaron Judge a second piece to that deal? Damn what could have been. Hahn said that this deal was the best deal he has been offered for Q. Period. Guessing that means Judge wasn't in the Yanks deal that fell apart.
  5. QUOTE (kwill @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 01:31 PM) I look at the White Sox Pitching Prospects as 2 waves 2017/2018 1. Lopez 2. Kopech 3. Giolito 4. Guerrero 5. Stephens 2018/2019 1.Dunning 2.Hansen 3.Cease 4.Flores I would expect the White Sox to add one more to this group by the July 31st deadline. Also, Put me in the category that Kahlne gets traded for a good package now. I think with what happend to Jones you realize how quickly value could evaporate. Many of us thought that Jones could have equal value to Robertson. I'd put Kopech in the 18/19 pool. There is zero change we see him in 17, and I'd say its unlikely we see him in 18.
  6. QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 01:09 PM) Gut reaction is an asset like Q should never be traded to the Cubs, especially without them paying WELL over market value. Not sure how I feel about the return yet, want to do a deeper dig on the prospects before coming to a conclusion there. Who cares about the Cubs? We just got the best OF prospect in the game, plus another guy with TOR potential.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 09:59 AM) Despite our discussions about trading him, I can't recall a single trade rumor that centered around Nate Jones. There were several rumors out there that he was of interest to many teams, but never really saw names thrown around.
  8. 2020. They should tank hard the rest of 17 and 18. Try to be respectable by 2019. By 2020, we need to be good.
  9. Q - you're the f***ing man. Will miss you dearly.
  10. QUOTE (NCsoxfan @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 11:56 AM) These trades aren't even over yet! Sure we're not getting another Moncada or Jimenez, but we'll get real value for Robertson, Swarzak, and others. Perhaps not quite top 25 talent, but if the Sox decide to move Abreu, they'll get a really nice return. The Yankees should most definitely be interested. At this point, I say f*** it - trade him. Tank hard the rest of 17 and 18, and be ready to put a respectable product on the field in 2019. Not really sure what Abreu accomplishes on this team at this point.
  11. QUOTE (StrykerSox @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 11:26 AM) FWIW, Cubs Reddit loves this. They say they got what they need and they're probably right. One guy was elated that they didn't need to use Schwarber, Happ or Baez. I would have been disappointed to see either of the top two switched out for any of those three. I wouldn't have hated Happ over Cease, just because we need as many bats as we can get, but I am not at all disappointed.
  12. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 10:57 AM) Don't stop get it get it I take it you didn't think we'd be getting Eloy?
  13. Hahn, you are the f***ing man. Played the league like a fiddle. Waiting was the correct thing to do. Give me Eloy over Tucker all day long.
  14. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 09:14 AM) Any position players ahead of Moncada? Sorry I don't have insider I don't have Insider either, but there most definitely are. Law isn't as big on Moncada as most "talent evaluators".
  15. Should have traded him last winter. The market appeared to have been there. Damn shame.
  16. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 08:40 AM) It's funny to see how Cubs fans value Schwarber and how all other fanbase value him now. People on northsidebaseball.com were pissed at the thought of the Babe for Michael Fulmer. Where as every other fanbase thought it was a joke of an offer. I personally think he's overrated in Cubsdom, but will still be a very nice DH at some point. Certainly not a headliner for Q anymore though. Thing is, nice DHs aren't very hard to find, and they aren't that expensive. That is a roster spot you if fill via FA when you're ready, not waste a precious asset like Q on. I'd be fine with Schwarber as a part of a Q deal, but only in a something that also includes Eloy. Which I doubt is going to happen.
  17. QUOTE (Enscheff @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 05:09 PM) If I had to guess, I would imagine Coppy has offered 2 pitchers not named Wright (and probably not both Allard and Soroka), plus Pache, plus 1-2 other fungible assets. Hahn has that offer in his back pocket, and if the Yanks, Astros, Brewers, Rockies, or maybe even the Cubs, give in and include an elite position prospect, Hahn jumps. That deal ain't gonna get it done. Sox can do much better than Pache as the best bat, and Sox already have probably the best stable of pitching prospects in baseball.
  18. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 04:59 PM) I don't think years of control matter that much for relievers due to their inherent fickle nature. In fact in many cases they're probably more of a deterrent than a bonus, which I think happened with Robertson this past winter. But should be less of an issues with prearb and arb guys. A guy like Kahnle isn't going to be devalued because of his control, but it also is not a guaranteed contract.
  19. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 04:20 PM) You initially said that some of those packages are exciting. I think they're all exciting and that's why the sentiment is that none of the other teams would accept them. No, that is not what I said. I said not all of that are that exciting.
  20. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 04:06 PM) Well, that certainly clarifies things! What don't you understand? If Rabbit thinks all of those packages would be unacceptable to the other team, that is a bit disconcerting. Frazier, Andujar and Fowler is about the minimum I would take. Braves package is obviously nice, but I'd prefer more than just Acuna on the offensive side. Brinson + Dubon + Phillips seems light. I'd much prefer Diaz to Dubon. Rodgers + McMahon package seems like a good starting point. Maybe add a lower level bat instead of Lambert. Just seems if Rabbit thinks those packages are far too much that the Yanks, Braves, Brewers and Rockies won't reject the outright, we're all going to be very very very disappointed.
  21. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 04:02 PM) I do not understand. Cool.
