But of this team is contending, trading the impending FA for garbage that is never going to make the big leagues does nothing for me. But we still have a long way to go before we're at that point.

This team was never as bad as most here thought it'd be. Still think Cleveland will run away with this division in the end, but wouldn't be surprised to see the Sox in the thick of things in early July.

I go back and forth. Sometimes he legitimately makes me laugh, and other times I hate his stupid one liners and attempts at jokes. He isn't a baseball guy, so he doesn't have much to add in that regard. I like Hawk more, but I do agree that Hawk clearly isn't as good as he was a few years ago. All in all, I'd say Benetti is fine, and will probably continue to improve.

I'm for it. Massive upgrade over what we're running out there right now. 2 years removed from being a PLUS PLUS CF. Nothing to lose, and its possible he turns into something useful that could be traded for more that organizational depth.
