Benintendi might be boring, and it hasn't been a great start in very SSS, but the deal is fine. $15M AAV isnt exactly superstar money 2023-2027, he adds lineup balance, OBP and is a solid OF. He solves alot of problems. But he isn't some star and Sox fans need to realize that.

I suppose all things considered, I'd rather have a tough schedule in April than September. As long as Sox can weather the storm, they'll be better for it come mid-season while Guardians and Twins are playing the tougher parts of the schedule.

With this delayed announcement, I am starting to think this may be a suspension from yesterday versus an mlb roster DFA or demotion. Otherwise the delayed announcement doesn’t make much sense. Then again, not 100% sure on suspension rules for pitchers - know Angels had to play a man short while Rendon was suspended.
