  1. Glad to see him stay in the org while not taking up a 40 man roster spot, tho. He was pretty good in the minors before the shoulder issues. Hope he bounces back.
  2. Of course Joe Kelly is hurt.
  3. While I agree the risk of losing him in minimal, they likely still need that length in the pen for now. Things haven't really changed on that since was was called up last Friday.
  4. I am aware. You can DFA someone not on the active roster.
  5. Can't say I disagree with you on just playing him. But 1-2 days off isn't worth a 10 day IL stint.
  6. Probably because he looked like s%*# at the plate the last 4-5 games and the toe is clearly bugging him.
  7. With this delayed announcement, I am starting to think this may be a suspension from yesterday versus an mlb roster DFA or demotion. Otherwise the delayed announcement doesn’t make much sense. Then again, not 100% sure on suspension rules for pitchers - know Angels had to play a man short while Rendon was suspended.
  8. He’s been around. Pitched for the Angels and Ms for a bit. Appeared in each of the past 6 MLB seasons --- 154 games.
  9. Nah, I'd much rather Robert play against the Twins that Pirates.
  10. Yeah, until he hurts himself again.
  11. I'd be shocked if they DFA German.
  12. Hmmm. Waited until they left Pittsburgh to kick Diekman to the curb?
  13. Twins don't really have many lefties with Kepler and Kiriloff on IL and Gallo also dinged up and not playing lately. Not that those are big names to begin with. Its basically Larnach and Nick Gordon and bunch of righties.
  14. Anderson SS, Robert CF, Benintendi LF, Vaughn DH, Sheets 1B, Grandal C, Alberto 3B, Colas RF, Andrus 2B Moncada on the bench after a rough weekend in favor of Alberto, and Sheets at 1B while AV DHs.
  15. Twins line-up pretty gross: Larnach LF, Correa SS, Miranda DH, Nick Gordon CF, Solano 1B, Wallner RF, Farmer 3B, Willi Castro 2B, Vazquez C
  16. Yeah, I think this is what happened. His natural instinct was go for for the catcher plow, once Seby came down with the ball and he was dead to rights, he had a last second change of heart. The injury could have been avoided with several different slide styles to the right of the baseline. While Cruz was probably out regardless, a really good headfirst swipe slide would have made it a tough play on Seby. Its unfortunate, but I can also understand why Pirates fans are sad/mad to lose Cruz. Would be a similar feeling to Robert going down on a play at the plate - we'd all be frustrated. I think 90% of them deep down realize it was on Cruz, even if they don't want to admit in while its still fresh.
  17. Just awful. Gets a bit better after this series, tho. Just get-away-day afternoon games during the weekday after today.
  18. Sox should probably try to win this series. Getting this one today is imperative as the pitching matchup is the only one clearly in our favor with Lynn and Gio coming off stinkers.

    Kopech

Jomboy breaking down Kopech’s pitch tipping against the Giants: https://twitter.com/jomboy_/status/1645250131858472961?s=46&t=0hsZGzIQ6gA2xF3CklZpQw
  20. If sitting Robert once every 10 games keeps him off the IL, I’ll happily take 145 games played. Would I have had him in there? Absolutely. But I get the logic. Yaz sat because day game after night with day game tomorrow. Pretty simple on that one.
  21. Guys get DFA all the time. What are even talking about. You’re acting like DFAing a low leverage reliever isn’t something that happens like 5-10x a week across the league.
  22. Tough one, but very happy to see Kopech rebound. Need a 4-2 week next week.
