    Flowers isn't great, but neither is the vast majority of all major league catchers. For the price, it ain't bad.

    As for Tank, meh, in my mind he has space on this team as a DH against LHP. LaRoche has proven he shouldn't be out there. Honestly, Tank is going to be needed in LF or RF before too long. He is a much better insurance policy than most teams have. Most likely he will suck, but there is upside there and for $4.4M in today's game, I like the idea.

    By all accounts, just a top notch guy.

     

    I still remember the day we signed Biggen'. I was so pumped that I watched youtube videos of him hitting moon shots for about an hour. It sure didn't work out for the SOX, but I wish the big man nothing but the best.

    Well, I am going by the eye test, which was admittedly a small sample size. But he looked like a big lumbering linebacker out there. I certainly would want him no where near the SOX roster.

    That's where I was for most of my message board career. Started lurking here in 2010 or so, joined in 12, and this has been home since. Don't post as much as I did at WSI, but I think that's mainly because the SOX have been painful to think about before and after the games the past few years. Really enjoy Soxtalk!

    You sure that he doesn't have an option left? Pretty sure we determined that he did on here earlier this winter. Could be just imagining that though. Fairly irrelevant at this point anyway.

Trea Turner can't officially be traded until one year from his signing date, but one year from his signing falls into the 6 month window that they have after this trade is complete to name the PTBNL.     There is his career stats. Also, Chris Rose on IT predicts that he goes to the Sox for 1 year/8 million. I know he isn't an insider, just a tidbit throwing at you guys.

     

    I wouldn't hate it on a 1-year deal so as to not rush Micah Johnson, but I am actually looking forward to seeing him out there. Asdrubal also is a pretty poor defensively. I'd pass.
