  1. We have several prospects not named Montgomery or Colas better than the trash the A's just got back for Murphy who was supposed to be highly coveted...
  2. Well, I mean they did. The Sox have had their two highest payrolls in club history in 2021 and 2022, with 2022 being $65M higher than ever before. They will again either have the highest or 2nd highest highest payroll in franchise history in 2023. So while we can argue until we're blue in the face about how exactly that money was spent, it was in fact spent. This is no way an excuse for JR or management. They should 100% be all the way up near the luxury tax threshold in 2023. The fact that they aren't is embarrassing. But when you take a step back and put it in all into context, they did in fact spend the money. They just did it really poorly.
  3. Diekman, perhaps. Leury isn't moveable at all. Kelly I actually think will have a solid season. The arm is there. I don't think he'll be worthless in 23, tbh.
  4. With these contracts being given out, Diekman is probably tradable tbh. It was a dumb trade and Diekman has no value, but I am fairly certain someone would take him from the Sox for minor league filler.
  5. I have little doubt the Sox at least have some interest in Gallo. But I’d they’re only going to acquire one starting caliber OF, I don’t want them exploring the trade market first before settling.
  6. Several packages have been thrown around in this thread. LAD have like 7 top 100 prospects and a few more just outside that are MLB ready. They definitely have the bullets. I think the general consensus here is that LAD needs Lux even with TA around. They’re pretty thin atm.
  7. I mean, realistically, if you're trading TA you may as well trade everyone of value controlled 2 years or less, because we aren't winning anything in 2023 with Elvis Andrus or Romy Gonzalez or Leury Garcia manning SS along with gaping holes in LF, RF and 2B.
  8. ATL and MN also definitely in the SS market along with LAD, SF and Cubs. Boston as well. DBacks could also be a surprise team in the SS trade market.
  9. Cartaya is the Dodgers best prospect. He should be included in any trade including both TA and Hendriks. I am far from some Outman stan, but he does fill some needs. He is an LH OF, he can play defense and he is MLB ready -- those are very valuable things to the White Sox right now. Despite part of me dying inside to have listen to Cali tell us how he is the greatest baseball mind of all time until we die if Outman were acquired, he does make some sense as a third piece in these deals. The middle piece just give one of their close to MLB ready SP prospects - obviously Miller would be best, but seems unlikely we'd get their 2 best prospects which is why I said Pepiot/Stone. I think its pretty obvious the Sox need to target both LH hitters and guys that aren't butchers in the infield, which is why I avoided Vargas/Busch. An all glove no bat MI like Amaya doesn't do much for me. We have enough MI prospects. Obviously moving on from TA creates a huge hole, but if you trade TA/Hendriks, you may as well trade everyone. Can target a SS in a different deal.
  10. If you're trading them TA + Hendriks, I want Cartaya+. Full stop at anything less. Cartaya + Pepiot/Stone + Outman. Gives us C of the future (who is blocked by Will Smith in LAD), a rotation option for 2023 and an OF option for 2023. Also frees up $25M ($40M in total) to figure out 1 more OF spot, SS and 2B.
  11. Wish he could play defense. Was always impressed with the size of this dude.
  12. He got an award for the ACe program and said something like “this is more important than winning, which we don’t do much of anyway.”
  13. Not sure I agree with the “good sign for the health of baseball” comment.
  14. Thats a lot of $. Mets are a cheat code right now.
  15. If they trade TA, there is no window. It’s ovah. And honestly, it probably already is, as painful as that is to admit.
  16. This. Now doing that with Correa ---- I could get get behind that.
  17. Kepler is definitely a better fit Gallo. Problem is that he isn’t a FA and the Twins aren’t gonna hand him to their division rival without an overpay.
  18. Montgomery isn’t even close to ready. He’s mid 2024 at best. You’d have to sign Elvis or some other stop gap, unless of course you received an mlb ready SS back in the deal.
  19. What kind of fan backlash would signing Correa result in?
  20. Appreciate the clarification! That would certainly mix things up. Hope they're able to get a haul.
