  1. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jun 23, 2015 -> 01:04 PM) But but but....is it free? Yeah they're free.
  2. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 23, 2015 -> 08:14 PM) Seen nothing but good reviews but from my one buddy, who walked out. Why?
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 23, 2015 -> 02:48 PM) But they don't. So why pretend they do? Go with your strengths. I never said they did, I'm saying that they need to. Always take the best player available and when things are close go with the guy with the higher ceiling. But eventually if the Sox want to develop their own bats they are going to have to start sometime if they're serious about it
  4. Luis Castillo is with the DSL team at the moment.

  6. Everyone should go see the Wolfpack.
  7. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jun 23, 2015 -> 02:06 PM) I agree, but if the draft's quality is in pitching, no use taking a hitter if there's a pitcher of much greater value available. I'm one of the bigger BPA guys here when it comes to the draft, but with that being said the Sox do need to be able to develop their own bats. I wasn't talkin about the draft specifically but rather the Org as a whole

    QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jun 23, 2015 -> 09:37 AM) I went in knowing it was a brand new show and that I shouldn't expect the same characters/plot, that was just the impression I got when watching. Let's come up with a bunch of characters all with unique flaws and throw them together to solve a case, it just doesn't seem as creative and interesting as the last season. I'm not comparing characters per se, more just comparing how they were introduced and built up (which I much preferred in season 1). "Let's come up with a bunch of characters all with unique flaws and throw them together to slove a case." That can be said for the first season, and is that not the basic concept of the show? Lets wait to watch the entire season before we judge it.
  9. QUOTE (LDF @ Jun 23, 2015 -> 08:48 AM) i personally like that idea in some respects. i believe Joshua and i discussed something like that during the off season. i was all for hiring another young pitching coach to be groomed, something like a promising coach, maybe in the college level, to start working with the sox minor leaguers and on the specification of what coop wants. We did, I remember.
  10. I am all for Bell, Laumann, and Capra being gone.
  11. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jun 23, 2015 -> 11:26 AM) If we continue taking pitchers and end up having a surplus of pitching talent, then we can always trade them for hitting. It's not that big a deal, I don't mind sticking to your strengths. They need to be able to develop their own bats.

  15. Go to www.wbtickets.com and register, this is what I use to go to advance movie screenings. Always check your email because they might have some cool stuff, that's far off. I get to see BvS a couple weeks early thanks to this site. I'm mostly familiar with WB as a studio, but once I get the site to the other studios I'll let you know.

  17. Whenever I brought up the possibility of the Sox trading Q, it seemed like people wanted burn me to the stake, but I digress. Anyway, I was thinking about the Nats as a trade partner for Q at least during the offseason. Both Jordan Zimmermann and Doug Fister are free agents after the season. I think they both sign elsewhere, so that leaves them with two holes in their rotation. They are going to be looking for quality arms as they see themselves as contenders. The only starters that they have under contract are Scherzer, China Doll and Gio Gonzalez. So I ask this, would you trade Q to the Nationals in exchange for Lucas Giolito and change (Your pick of lower level prospects, comp picks, international bonus slots and/or cash)? I know I would. Giolito gives you a monster arm and the more comp picks you have the more talent you can add to the system through the draft.
  18. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jun 23, 2015 -> 01:48 AM) And the 2010 team didn't make the playoffs. And in 2011, they had the 23rd pick, and forfeited it to sign Adam Dunn. Had that 2010 team gone just 14-16 over that stretch, they would have had the 10 pick in the draft (protected pick, which means they keep it when they sign Dunn), and could have chosen from the likes of George Springer, Jose Fernandez, and Sonny Gray, all who were in that range. So thanks for helping prove my point. If they aren't going to make the playoffs, I want the best draft pick possible to be able to avoid situations like 2010 where instead of potentially having one of the best young players in baseball, they give up a pick for a free agent like Adam Dunn. If you’re out of the playoffs, might as well get the highest pick possible.
  19. After doing some research across the interweb it has become apparent to me that the 2016 draft's strength is pitching, so for those of you hoping for a bat, sorry. There are some really intriguing arms in both the college and prep ranks.

    QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jun 22, 2015 -> 02:57 PM) True Detective was kinda boring and just an onslaught of characters, so far it seems like they felt like they couldn't create a replacement for McConaughey so they decided to just create a bunch of characters with flaws to make up for it. I'm still intrigued but disappointed with the start, hopefully the plot starts to move forward and is more intriguing. Ballers was ok, kinda expected more humor/tits and ass. I'll keep it going as a quasi replacement for Silicon Valley for my mindless entertainment before going to sleep Sunday nights. The Brink was actually better than what I expected, a lot funnier than I thought it would be. I don't get why people are so disappointed with the first episode. I liked it a lot because it took it's time introduring us to each of the 4 leads. That connection that we forged with them in episode 1 will pay off as the season goes on, I can say that now that the characters are introduced that the story is start picking up gradually. Remember the first season, things didn't take off till the fourth episode. I disagree with the 'compensating for McCounaghey' comment, you have to erase the first season from your head as this is an anthology series. And these 4 have nothing in common with Rust besides their love of whiskeys and profession (I've had Johnnie Walker Blue before, it's fantastic. Also love Jameson). I hated the Brink. Everyone here should check out, Deadwood if you haven't. And the Red Road, which is f***ing phenomenal.
  21. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jun 22, 2015 -> 09:33 AM) The real question is, the #RoadtoWho..... Banks? Puk? #RoadToBestPlayerAvailable

    After seeing the first few episodes, I will say that all the footage from the promos is from them. They're keeping the juicy stuff a secret.
  24. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 21, 2015 -> 03:44 PM) Disappointing season for Adams continues. Just needs to find a way to limit how many hits he allows. I think the goal for him is stretching his arm out, I hope he stays healthy.
