QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 8, 2015 -> 03:03 AM) One more 2016 draft update: I'm told Oklahoma RHP Alec Hansen was up to 99 mph today. He's 6'7 or 6'8 with knockout stuff, 1-1 candidate. Seems that name came out of nowhere almost.... People say he's Dillon Tate to the extreme

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 8, 2015 -> 01:23 AM) And there are infinite nickname possibilities... Head, Cabbage Patch, Cabbage Patch Kid, Vegetable, am I missing some?

I hope the Sox draft Trey Cabbage, he's 6'4 180 and he has a nice left swing and strong arm. Plus hit tool. He pplays short but his future is at third: http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/18765768/v130...s-third-baseman

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 7, 2015 -> 09:56 PM) Benintendi's numbers are just incredible coming out of that conference. I love his swing.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Jun 7, 2015 -> 09:13 PM) Give me Dillon Tate. I like Tate too, and Beneintendi***

QUOTE (Mike F. @ Jun 7, 2015 -> 07:29 PM) In a perfect world, who would you want the Sox to get in the draft at #8? For me, it's Tyler Jay easily. I'd be happy with Jay, Tucker, Stephenson, and Harris.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 7, 2015 -> 06:26 PM) Not to mention the Angels and Yankees are in desperate need for young blood offensively...and the Yankees also lost out in the Moncada sweepstakes, that didn't sit well with many. I think that he signs after July 2nd, that would leave out the Yankees and Angels.
-
QUOTE (ChiSoxJon @ Jun 7, 2015 -> 09:14 AM) Unfortunately, Cubs are favorites to land him I'd take that with a grain of salt. If I were you, 17 teams are in the mix and that includes the Angels and Yankees who can't sign anyone over 300K. So let's just keep your fingers crossed.

KW: play is "embarassing" but team can still win ALC

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 6, 2015 -> 09:34 PM) They'd have to play exceptional baseball to make the playoffs. I'm just hoping Hahn realizes that despite having Sale, Shark, Q and Rodon this team blows and adjusts accordingly. ... Maybe behind the scenes he should interview some managerial candidates and see if they think they can win NOW with our rotation. Thats not the Sox MO, interviewing potential managerial candidates behind Robin's back would make the Sox look really really really really really bad to a lot of people. -

For any aspiring writers out there. This could be a huge ally to you as try to make your career a reality. The Black List takes the best unproductive scripts in Hollywood and helps them get sold or into production. Originally the Black List was just a list of the top 25-75 unproduced scripts but now it's helping new screenwriters get into Hollywood by sending their scripts to all the studios. If you write, check out the site and the grading system and then look at the all writers that it has helped get MAJOR jobs in the past year alone. I recommend it to everyone, maybe it could help someone here. https://www.blcklst.com

Let me make this point, I am not saying that the Sox should just dump Quintana. Im saying that if a deal is there, and the Sox feel like theyre getting a return thats acceptable based on how they value Q, thatbthwy shouldn't be afraid to trade him.

QUOTE (BaseballNick @ Jun 4, 2015 -> 10:01 PM) I haven't heard Micker Adolfo's name lately. Does anyone know what's going on with him and where he's playing? He is on the AZL roster, right now he's in extended spring training. Apparently he was the talk of instructs for the Sox, so lets see what kind of season he has but we have to remember that he is just 18.

White Sox @ Rangers - 6/4/15 - 7:05 CDT - CSN
Boopa1219 replied to lasttriptotulsa's topic in 2015 Season in Review
Great game by both sides. Rodon was fantastic for the second start in a row. Dan Jennings needs to work on his command, he could be a lock down lefty out of the pen but he needs to work on things -
QUOTE (LDF @ Jun 3, 2015 -> 06:07 PM) so you are going to tear apart the mlb team to go and acquire these holes the system needs. i am still making the point this team, still have to rebound. we, as fans do not know when or if they will rebound. next point, prospects, any prospects still have odds on whether they will make it or not. second, there is a time line that needs to be considered, next yr. so how long would you wait to address these holes via the minor league system, or via the int'l route? the last point, every one says or have said, the sox do not have the financial horses to address these holes via fa, so how will you fix these holes. I'm not tearing down the ML team, Im trading where I have a surplus of talent, which for the Sox is their starting rotation. Like I said I wouldn't trade Sale and Rodon (and Abreu), that's leaves Danks, Shark and Q. Each of those three guys could give you something back and help make your team by bring in talent to the system and filing some of those holes.
-
QUOTE (LDF @ Jun 3, 2015 -> 05:41 PM) whether b/c of necessities or b/c they are sellers or buyers at the deadline. they, the sox org needs to address the holes that is becoming a major concern. i look at the FA rt and i don't see the help there. i keep staring at the milb for the sox prospects and i really don't see it. the sox have no choice but it may need to trade for them. the only assets the sox may have for this possible trade is using the farm. You're going to deal from the farm, which you alluded to as being a weakness and make it weaker by dealing whatever valuable prospects that you have? That doesn't make too much sense to me, the Sox should be holding on to all their prospects while they build up the farm through the draft and INTL FA as they get to a point where the system is overflowing with prospects. The Sox have guys right now on the ML roster who could net them some very solid returns at the deadline. While nobody is untouchable, if I am Rick Hahn the only players that I am holding on to are Sale, Abreu and Rodon, everyone else is to be had at the right deal.

QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Jun 3, 2015 -> 09:09 AM) Hawk & Rowand was great. Steven Stone needs to bow out to Rowand's greatness. I didnt think that Rowand was that good, he just agreed with everything that Hawk said. -

I actually have been enjoying listening to Swirsky these past few games, I think that he is doing a solid job. I know that he is not the best baseball mind and may not be able to tell the difference between a good slider and a bad slider, but he has brought some new flavor to the broadcast and I like that he is REALLY leaning on Stone. -
If the White Sox do make any moves at the deadline, assuming they are sellers, I would like to see the Sox acquire young ML ready players and not established veterans. I would like for the team to avoid dipping into the farm in any deal.
