Quintana needs to stop being so passive on the mound. He's slow to the plate, and he's trying to paint thee corners it seems. He needs to work faster and throw strikes.

QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Apr 16, 2015 -> 05:29 PM) Yeah, you guys are terrific with the info. The highest picks in two years of Hahn are Anderson, Danish, Rodon and Adams. That's a good group , imo, so I'm going to have faith that this year will also be satisfactory, despite the lost picks andregardless of my first impression on Draft Day. Thank you

QUOTE (ChiSoxJon @ Apr 18, 2015 -> 09:29 AM) I agree with you on Cameron, he's a young, raw HS project OFer, one we don't need, Matuella and Aiken will almost definitely fall out of the first round, and I'm glad you mentioned those catchers, this syetem is lacking a top notch legitimate prospective C Im still high on Cameron, but I would like to see the team start invest heavily into the catching position both in the amateur draft and in international free agency

That's one way to beat the shift!

This team is way to aggressive at the plays, they're not taking pitches or grinding out at bats. Guys are singing at the first pitch and singing at balls out of the zone.

QUOTE (Bruce_Blixton @ Apr 17, 2015 -> 06:32 PM) Well... Good job

QUOTE (Bruce_Blixton @ Apr 17, 2015 -> 02:12 PM) I'm not an expert with the draft allocations but with the rash of injuries to the top of the draft it's feasible that the Sox could draft one of the injured prospects for a modest discount of $500k or so and use that to throw at a higher ceiling prep position player in the later rounds. I'm sure it's not likely but there are scenarios where it could happen. No

Even though they lost, this was a great game and both teams played well enough to win. Hopefully the players can build off this put up this kind of effort everyday from here on out.

QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Apr 16, 2015 -> 04:13 PM) I'd call up Rodon ASAP after tomorrow's deadline and put Danks in the Scott Carroll 2014 role, Noesi is probably the better pitcher now. Though I would've done something like claim Wandy Rodriguez for 5th starter. Thus destroying whatever trade value that he has

Franklin Reyes played in the All American game as a 14 year old. Here's is the All American's game bio on him: Franklin Reyes OF 6’4 190lb R/R DOB 9-11-98 San Cristobal, DR Franklin is trained by Basilio Vizcaino. His brother Franmil is a UAAA alumni now playing in the San Diego Padres system. Franklin is physically impressive with XXL frame and wiry muscular tone. He’s a prototypical RF’er possessing plus raw power, hit ability and plus arm strength. http://dplbaseball.com/dpl-news/reyes-and-...l-america-game/ He was also featured in a BA article, I don't subscribe but to those that do: http://www.baseballamerica.com/internation...franklin-reyes/

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 08:12 PM) Yet not many changes have been made. Still not sure how Buddy Bell hasn't been replaced yet. They did promote Jeremy Harber to assistant GM, an title he shares with Buddy Bell, but he comes from an analytics and financial background. I do want to want to see Bell replaced, he has done nothing for the system.

Indiana prep RHP Ashe Russell was up to 97 mph yesterday and the stuff was crisp, like his better moments last summer. - Kiley McDaniel

Danks pitched good enough to win the game, the offense let him down BIG TIME.

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 12:30 PM) Here is McDaniel's detailed update: http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-interna...-market-part-1/ Says that the White Sox are believed to have an agreement with 6'3 235 pound RF Franklin Reyes for $1.4 million. Looks like the Cubs will be extremely active again. I wish the White Sox would use the same strategy. That's leaves the sox with $2,043,000 to spend in the international market, they can still trade for an additional $1,721,500.

I like it, just get him to shorten the swing a bit, but I do agree with Kiley in that he is a future first baseman

Not going to win a lot of games when the team won't take it's walks, the Sox have 7 walks so far and that's last in the league according to Hawk.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 13, 2015 -> 08:05 PM) Like, Matt Davidson? No like a Corey Seager, or a Xander Bogaerts, Colin Mottram

Everyone is talking about Longoria, they could trade for a ML ready prospect.

"Believe" - New documentary about '05 Sox

QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 13, 2015 -> 12:53 PM) Correct. And I was right, the music sucked and was too loud. Yeah a lot of simple things you could fix in the editing suite, my biggest issue with the doc was where they placed the narration in the mix, it sounded extremely muddled. -
"Believe" - New documentary about '05 Sox
Boopa1219 replied to LittleHurt05's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The Sox fan in me loved it, the film student in me thought that it could've been a lot better. The editing was weak, I could go on. -
QUOTE (raBBit @ Apr 13, 2015 -> 12:37 PM) No it wouldn't. Rather, if it was, Longoria would never be a Cub. Considering contracts, Soler could easily be a much more valuable player every year of his rookie contract. If the Cubs actually talked to the Rays I think the Rays would ultimately ask for Russell and the Cubs would counter with some mix of Baez/Almora/Voglebach/Johnson/McKinney. Regardless, it's probably best that TB keeps some sort of draw to the team so Longoria is more valuable to them that any other team. If their pitching falters they'll be looking at early 2000's type teams. I should note that I am very high on Soler so I might be seeing things different than others. I am very high on Soler too, really wish the Sox could've signed him. In regards to Longoria, the Sox don't have the prospects to trade for Longo and I think that it wouldn't be wise to do so. I do think that third base and catcher are the two weakest positions in the system however.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Apr 12, 2015 -> 03:01 PM) If the White Sox FO made a top prospect list Keon Barnum would rank a lot higher on their's than he would on FutureSox's. Hopefully he keeps it up. It was a great pick in 2012 at the time, but he's hasnt met the expectations that hes been faced with but i donhope that he become something for the system

Robertson was disgusting out there, this win is definitely going to add some life to the team

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 11, 2015 -> 01:46 PM) Since the choke job to end 2012, Ventura has struggled to get this team to play consistently well. Now that he has better talent, you can't let them fall too far behind without shaking things up. The Sox had no business even contending for a playoff spot in 2012 in my opinion, and the past two years things have been in rebuild mode and he has had some of the fewest talent at his disposal ever since he became the manager of the club. Even when in 2013 and 2013, Robin has showed his ability to put his players in a position to succeed, he just didn't have the horses to win the race (The 2014 Bullpen) and he has shown that he can develop some players along the way. This is a team that is still learning how to play together and their best player hasn't taken the field yet. So simmer down over there.
