The trade of Alexi, to either the Mets or Dodgers.

Good move by Hahn
-
Since there is no need for the Sox to trade Alexi, I hope they can get a top prospect for him.

QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Nov 21, 2014 -> 08:40 AM) Sorry, lol, I had to. Please explain to me why you disagree, using words like an intelligent person.

White Sox claim Onelki Garcia: Outright Jared Mitchell

I like the bullpen additions so far. Is Montas the closer of the future? -
Actually, I wouldn't mind seeing Belisario back as a middle reliever, but he has to work on his command.
-
I hope they don't sign him, I don't want guys who have any connection to PEDs on the team.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 19, 2014 -> 04:54 PM) Yeah, I disagree that this is a guy that the Sox should look at this early. They need to explore a lot of other options and if LaRoche ends up signing elsewhere between now and then, so be it. However, if he's available come about January 15th and the Sox could use an extra bat, I have no problem giving him $8-10 million his way on a 1 year deal. There's no way I'd give him 2 years guaranteed, but an option of some type is definitely possible for a second year. I would wait to sign him as well and he fills a position of need. And Adam LaRoache is a good defensive player, he won a gold glove in 2013, and if I remember correctly I think that he was a finalist this year too.
-
Really want LaRoche, I would sign him to a one year deal with an option for a second. He would really upgrade the team's defense, and he is a left handed bat.
-
If the Sox don't land Moncoda, I think that they should go after Bryan Emery, who is a left handed hitting OF from the DR and could'nt come to terms with the Yankees or Padres during July 2nd. http://padrespublic.com/sacrifice-bunt/pad...-sign-the-rest/

QUOTE (raBBit @ Nov 18, 2014 -> 05:13 PM) I think it's crazy that some fans think the Sox could get Seager for Alexei, which would never happen and others are willing to take Schebler for Alexei. These are two way different ends of the spectrum. The Dodgers really aren't much of a match with the Sox in terms of prospects. Even if they felt inclined to move Pederson, they could get better value of moving him for someone other than Alexei. Id give them some cash and one of our lower profile prospects along with Alelxi to get Seager.
-
I am hoping it's Seager because that would solve a lot of problems. He's a left handed bat, a run producer who has solid contact skills that allow him to hit for a high average and should be able to hit 25 homers a season with a ton of doubles and he plays 3rd base.

QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Nov 15, 2014 -> 05:10 PM) Why, exactly? Not that I'm saying you shouldn't be, but what specifically have you seen/read/heard to give you this feeling? I read up on him before the draft and even more so after the draft and a lot of sites said that he was an advanced hitter deposited being a two way prospect in high school.
-
I would live to the Sox to sign either Johnson, Masterson, Hammels, or Brett Anderson. If they stay healthy, they could be huge assets at the deadline
-
I am not surprised to see that there are no impact bats in this class, although I am high on Jake Jarvis.

Mets/LAD/NYy interested in Alexei, according to Levine

QUOTE (LDF @ Nov 13, 2014 -> 11:23 PM) I think the yanks have a better group of prospects, or should I say a deeper pool of prospects. The Mets have strong top line prospects and the Yankees have better prospects in the lower levels. -

QUOTE (LDF @ Nov 13, 2014 -> 10:01 AM) most definitely. but I think the sox need that starting pitcher in the beginning of the season. I think that 2015, like the second half of 2013 and the entirety of 2014 is all about collecting assets, and that 2016 is going to be the year where the team starts competing again. I think that the Sox should be around .500 next year, and that they should be trying to acquire as much talent as possible because there are still some holes on the team and the Royals and the Tigers arent going anywhere. If the Sox have to endure a slow first few months of the season because Syndergaard needed time in the minors, then I am all for it because the team is going to be better in the long run. -

QUOTE (StRoostifer @ Nov 13, 2014 -> 01:58 PM) I would love to snatch Clarkin away from the Yanks but there's no way the Yanks give up a kid like him for a 33 year old SS. I wonder if the Sox could get JR Murphy along with Greene? Mateo is a want -
Congrats

QUOTE (LDF @ Nov 13, 2014 -> 09:37 AM) I wouldn't count on Sydergaard in the majors just yet. last season he took a little step back in his quest to make it to the majors. something out his pitches and command. I don't quite remember. I think the article was in MILB under Mets. I'm just talking about down the line. I think that he should start the season in the minors and be called up around the all star break, or be given 100IP in the majors. -

QUOTE (LDF @ Nov 13, 2014 -> 08:56 AM) not a bad idea. Imagine this rotation: Sale Syndergaard Quintana Rodon Noessi They could even make someone like a Quintana available, or one of the guys at the minors. -

For Syndergaard and a low level prospect or INTL $, I would send the Mets: Alexi and Chris Beck. -

I think Tulo goes to St. Louis or he remains in Colorado at least till the ASB. I think Castro remains a Cub, I personally think it's Baez who gets traded out of their crop of young players. Castro has brome a voice and leader in that clubhouse to go alongside Rizzo. -

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Nov 12, 2014 -> 12:57 AM) Which is exactly why Hahn is able to ask high, and hope someone takes it. Sox have all the leverage in trade talks because there is no pressing need to trade Alexei. He's not being pushed by anyone and his contract is team friendly. Any deal Hahn takes you would pretty much have to think favors the Sox. Watch as Tule gets traded to somewhere not named New York, and the Cubs hold on to Castro, I can see the Mets breaking down. -
Rick Hahn is to Christopher Nolan, as Kwn Williams is to Joel Shumacker.
