  1. I've said that I am hoping that they draft either Gatewood, Kolek or Jackson, but I am really warming to Braxton Davidson. He has an impact left bat and he can potentially be a monster in the middle of the order for years to come. People are saying that he is a lefty Paul Goldschimdt, thats not a bad comp at all.
  2. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Nov 15, 2013 -> 03:40 PM) System got some new respect. BP really likes Danish and Anderson ('13 draft was praised). I know Parks likes Leury quite a bit as well. Really outside of a few picks I hated that draft class, I thought 2012 was a way better class.
  3. Baltimore is willing to move Wieters, they are looking for pitching in return, and they are willing to sell low on him after his 2013 season. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2013/11/orio...tt-wieters.html
  4. Its no secret that the farm system is one of the worst in all of baseball, but it is safe to say that the farm is on the way up with guys like Hawkins, Danish, Zapata, Anderson, etc. With this 3rd overall pick the 2014 draft is a big one for the White Sox
  5. How did they get to that number
  6. I want a fulls scale rebuild, but if the White Sox sign Salty to a reasonable contract I would not be upset.
  7. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Nov 12, 2013 -> 02:03 PM) Man, that De Aza trade and that Keppinger trade was really nice. I loved all his moves except for Sale for Puig. Should have made it Sale and Viciedo for Puig and Joc Pederson. That Sale-Puig trade is terrible, You could get so much more from him. I know its a simulation, but that was a terrible trade.
  8. I think that standing pat is the right thing to do for the White Sox, I love the Abreu signing and it makes sense from a baseball standpoint and I love it because they nabbed a middle of the order hitter for $10 million a year. But there is no one that makes sense for this team on the open market, and if I am Rick Hahn, I am calling every GM in MLB as I try to bring some young talent into the fold. (Here's to you Angel Sanchez)
  9. If I am Rick Hahn and there is a possibility that I can add Angel Sanchez to the White Sox, and get rid of Gordon Beckham, I am doing everything in my power to make that trade happen.
  10. I do not want either of them on the Sox, LA can keep them both.
  11. The Sox could easily get 2 of a teams top 10 prospects for Quintana
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 26, 2013 -> 05:26 PM) The most important part by far is which one has the higher chance of busting? You haven't spelled that out. I think that Soler, who I am very high on has the highest chance of busting amongst the core Cubs prospects. I would say Bryant is more of a sure thing because he is closer to majors than Almora.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 26, 2013 -> 08:50 AM) Possibly one of them, though again, it isn't what the Sox need. They need a major league 3B, or someone who will be ready to take a shot at the majors this year. If you could have one of them, who would it be. I am torn between Bryant and Almora. Bryant can be that monster in the middle of the order, who can play 3B for the White Sox and be that middle of the order bat for the next 10+ years. And Almora could be the White Sox version of Derek Jeter, and a dynamic and versatile #2 hitter.

  15. Do you think that Quintana could net either Kris Bryant, Jorge Soler, Albert Almora or Javier Baez?
  16. I am not high on Turner at all, i would dissapointed if the Sox drafted him
  17. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 23, 2013 -> 09:27 AM) A player in the situation that Kyle Seager is in. Young player, cost controlled, who is currently about a 3-5 WAR player. I like his younger brother better
  18. Who do you want to be the team's next hitting coach? Since Rick Hahn stated that whoever the next hitting coach will be that his philosophy will be preached throughout the entire organization, I am hoping for Rudy Jamarillo to be hired, he was behind some of the most dynamic offense in MLB over the past 15 years during his time with the Astros and Rangers. As a hitting coach he preaches five steps: seeing the ball, rhythm, separation, staying square and weight shift-transfer. And if this taught throughout the organization, it will really help guys like Courtney Hawkins to realize their skills at the plate.
  19. I am one of those fans that are pushing for a rebuild of the organization, but I am all for the White Sox signing Johnson to a one year deal, only because if he performs well Rick Hahn can deal him to a contending team at the deadline and get some good prospects in return. My only reservation is that the Sox would loose a draft for signing him, and to me he is not worth it.
  20. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Oct 20, 2013 -> 10:06 AM) He'll fall to 3 but I just don't see the Sox taking him there. I see Gatewood at 3 then some pitching after that. I am really hoping that they draft Kel Johnson in the second round. He can be the 1B of the future, and he can really hit. I would also like to see some left handed bats be added to the system as well.
  21. QUOTE (Dunt @ Oct 18, 2013 -> 12:50 PM) I know there is still a long way to go here, but if you drafted today, would you take Turner or Gatewood? I am drafting Gatewood, because he has the highest potential and ceiling out of any player in this draft class. He can be a true cornerstone player for the Sox and his bat could be something truly special. Plus, I can see him being a superstar player that will help bring fans back to the Cell
  22. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 16, 2013 -> 01:45 PM) Bristol has been an ad hoc raw prospect team. Moving them to an AZL league will probably improve their results and give the team a better feel for who is doing what. But was one of Bristol's biggest problem's was the log jam of players at certain positions (i.e Catcher), and those players were not able to receive ample playing time.
  23. I thought that the purpose of gaining that AZL team was to have a place where the more raw prospects could develop and I remember Rick Hahn saying that the more affiliates an organization has the better the farm system because you can develop more prospects in your system. How does selling Bristol help us? And where those kids going to play?
  24. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 16, 2013 -> 09:04 AM) Much different situation. I was joking. But in all seriousness, I am glad to see Rick Hahn and Marco Paddy investing in the international market and building a reputation of being serious players in Latin America. And when July 2nd comes around with their $5 million spending pool, they're are going to grab multiple impact players.
