  1. We don’t know who’s going to be any good, no one knows what makes a good manager exactly. And at the same time, highly lauded managers are rarely available, and just because someone hasn’t done it before, doesn’t mean they’re going to be bad at the job.
  2. If the Sox are looking for a bridge manager, they went about this the wrong way
  3. If only there was a managerial candidate with that kind of background
  4. Learning about how Katz and Bannister pushed Ecker and Getz to meet, and the interview going well, I think he’s the guy they hire. These interviews with the Dodgers should still definitely happen to get into and more ideas but we’ll see. Lavine still says the Sox have strong interest in their 1B coach
  5. What if they went Ecker as manager and Ellis as bench coach?
  6. I have no problems with the people they interview/contacted. After reading that blurb, Ecker sounds very interesting.
  7. I know no doubt in my mind that Pedro Grifol verbally feliated his way into that job during that interview and said whatever he thought Hahn wanted to hear.
  8. Again, this isn’t the NFL. MLB teams don’t report on interviews for positions. If names are being reported like this, they’ve either had an interview, reached out and inquired, or told the candidate they’re not interested
  9. He might’ve been given a raw deal in LA.
  10. I would pay 200-300 a year to watch every Sox game. I wish they did something like what the Utah Jazz are doing. Jazz fans can pay $125 a year to get all their games digitally, you can pay $19.50 a month, and $5 per game. I think that includes a Spanish broadcast, pre and post game, and other exclusive content.
  11. Anyone who took what JR said about the team being better and undergoing a quick turnaround seriously, is an idiot. I'm sorry.
  12. I really hope this guy falls to 10
  13. I’m imagining the Dodgers are causing this to drag
  14. Not what this thread is about so you wanted the Sox to go all in on 2024 because they couldn’t pick higher than 10 in 2025? The team needed to undergo a rebuild in the worst way after the TLR failure and 2024. I’m glad they didn’t delay the process and are actually doing it. I do wish they went into 2024 with a new manager but here we are. The brand is fine, all will be well as they get better.
  15. I think the “silence” surrounding the Sox is a good thing. Shows that they’re actually undergoing a process for this hire. I imagine we’ll hear more news after the LCS’s
  16. I’m of the opinion that records don’t matter for rebuilding teams. And this was a team that was always going to be worse than 2023’s. I think too many people are caught up on something that ultimately doesn’t matter.
  17. Crochet to Cleaveland for Travis Bazzana, Ralphy Velazquez, Jaison Chourio, and a pick. Who says no?
  18. I wish MLB covered their hiring processes like NFL teams do. When an NFL team interviews a candidate for GM/HC, it’s always reported on by the team. I wish MLB had that transparency
  19. They’re firing more scouts. I wonder how many they’ve fired total
