  1. Glad people are liking The Batman. We worked hard as hell on it.
  2. I know they changed the pitching development staff recently but they might need to go outside of the org to get someone to oversee system wide pitching development alongside Ethan Katz, who should be writing the system wide plan.
  3. I think there’s a serious pitching development problem. Who’s the last arm that the Sox drafted and developed into a serviceable starting pitcher? Rodon? He was drafted in 2014 and was a top 3 pick. It’ll be hard to screw that up. Crochet could be that guy but I don’t trust LaRussa to stretch him out. This is a serious problem. I’ve been told that the Sox don’t draft pitchers who don’t land straight to the plate. Their reasoning is that you can’t teach it. Something has to change here.
  4. Carson Montgomery - SS Norge Vera - RHSP Wes Kath - 3B Jose Rodriguez - SS/2B Oscar Colas - OF/1B Yoelqui Céspedes - OF Bryan Ramos - 2B/3B Andrew Dalquist - LHSP Matthew Thompson- RHSP Jared Kelley - RHSP Micker Adolfo - OF Erick Hernandez - OF Sean Burke - RHSP Tanner McDougal - RHSP Romy Gonzalez - SS/UTL Yolbert Sanchez - SS/2B Jonathan Stiever - RHSP Jimmy Lambert - RHSP Jake Burger - 3B/1B Gil Luna - LHRP
  5. I’m curious about the trading of draft picks/bonus pool space. That’s something that I want to see included, I think it’ll add more intrigue to the league.
  6. The Hostetler draft strategy wasn’t the best but I get the logic in it, especially in 2016 and 2017. He wanted to rebuild the floor of the organization by adding low ceiling/high floor college types but that’s how you end up 1B/DH types and a singles hitting second baseman. I think the Sox are in better shape with Shirley. I’m a fan of drafting athletes, prep guys and dudes with the absolute highest ceilings because that’s how you find superstars. Shirley said himself that his philosophy echoes that. The next draft for the Sox is crucial. I remember Kevin Goldenstein writing that it takes 3 years to really build up a farm system. The Sox are in year two of that process. They could greatly use more up the middle guys and athletes. About the actual list, I would rank Colas in the top 3. I would rank Hernandez in the top 15. I’m big on Luna, so I might rank him higher here but not by much. I think Colson will be in the top 100 by next year.
  7. https://twitter.com/amgsportsgroup/status/1490515615370518530?s=21 Give me this dude
  8. Hoping for Morocco Brown but I wouldn’t be mad with Poles. I would absolutely hate the Quinn hire.
  9. I don’t think the Sox will announce anything till this Colas situation is wrapped up.
  10. Grobber got me through college, always listened to him whenever I was up late working on a paper or a project. Even now, I’d always have him on as I’d leave set at night. Going to miss that weird guy.
  11. I want a scout surrounded by a lot of analytics people. So give me Morocco Brown
  12. I don’t know about everyone else but so far, Im extremely pleased with how the Bears are conducting their search. As a White Sox game it has made me extremely jealous. They’re taking their time and interviewing everyone. People of all different backgrounds and specialities and a lot of these candidates are people of color too. I doubt that they’ll make a hire after this week but I could see it happening soon, like mid week next week. Hoping for Dodds, Morocco Brown, one of the Cleveland guys or Schoen
  13. I agree and once that happens, the other skill players will follow It's been a while since Jimmy Clausen and Gunn Kiel.
  14. Yeah the game management at the end of the half was bad and I agree about not going for it in the first quarter, I was screaming at my TV. I’m still very high on Freeman, I just think the game highlighted how poorly ND has recruited skill positions in recent years, especially on offense. I expect that to change under Freeman, there a rumor that the Bama WR coach might be going to ND which would be huge.
  15. I had OSU winning with ND being so in flux and with them missing their best players on Offense and Defense but Jack Coan played like shit in the second half of the Fiesta Bowl. Him and Rees starting calling/playing scared and conservative and they deserved to lose. They should’ve won that game.
  16. Nagy has to be gone, not firing him now puts the Bears at a serious disadvantage when it comes to the hiring cycle. Bryon Leftwich is who I’m pulling for If they’re smart, they would’ve been reaching out to and putting feelers out to FO candidates already. I’m hoping for either Ed Dobbs from the Colts or Will McClay from the Cowboys for the big job.
  17. I really want them to hire Bryon Leftwich or Josh McDaniels, as long as he’s given no personnel powers.
  18. I think a good comp for him is Mark Andrews, I think he can put up that kind of production. He would go at wide sometimes at ND, maybe a more imaginative play caller does that next year. But what a waste this season has been. If Fields was the starter from the jump, we’d probably know a lot more about the skill players on offense, Kmet and Mooney especially. They’d probably have better numbers too.
  19. As a ND fan I’m really rooting for Kmet to succeed but it has been tough at times, this article has gotten me off the ledge. https://dabearsblog.com/2021/atm-cole-kmet-is-right-on-schedule
  20. Is Hernandez a top 15 prospect after he signs this INTL signing period? I’d say, yeah.
  21. Man the system is grim. Hopefully they can keep on stacking drafts and intl signing classes.
  22. I hope one of the college catchers falls to the Sox or a good college arm but I expect them to go lean prep again and they should because teenagers, especially those that play up the middle, are the most valuable commodity in baseball. That being said a guy that I'm going to follow is Justin Crawford, Carl's son. He'll be a nice add to the new wave of Sox prospects headlined by Montgomery and Kath. He can play center, can hit with a pretty swing and is an athlete, the Sox desperately need more of those.
  23. They’ve been stacking the classes up once he got there. I wonder if they try to get a veteran head coach on on the staff as a AHC or something. Hiring Freeman, gives them connections to the OSU coaching staff, maybe he can poach some guys.
  24. Kelly leaving ND SHOCKED Me. LSU is a worse job but he's getting paid and I'll never be mad at someone for chasing the money. Freeman would be a cool story and a good hire but ND is easily the #1 job on the market, they should explore every option.
  25. Today, Id rather have Kelenic than Madrigal. Id rather have Grayson Rodriguez today than Madrigal. I’d rather have Gilbert too.
