  1. Wasn’t Yelich struggling horribly. Devers, Bellinger, Springer, Suarez and Acuna too? You guys probably would take McCann over them too
  2. Poor decisions from Ricky. Its a DH so both catchers are going to play but why not start McCann for Giolito? Yes, Giolito needs to learn how to throw to Grandal. And while his first inning was 100% self inflected since he couldn’t throw strikes, why not pair Giolito with the guy he’s most comfortable with? Why is Abreu batting 3rd and 4th on a regular basis? He should be batting sixth every day and he shouldn’t even be playing against RHSP’s everyday.
  3. Grandal is one of the best catchers in all of baseball, arguably the best. MLB Network had him as the #1 catcher going into the season. The Sox got a lot better because they signed him. I know the power hasn’t been there yet but the guy is a OBP machine. His OBP is at .354 right now, he’s been a victim of a lot of bad calls so it should be a lot higher. He’s also one of the best framers in the game. McCann, who’s a major win for the Sox pro scouting and PD, has earned a shot to be someone’s everyday catcher but I don’t think that’s what he is. I think he is a really good number two catcher who can also play at 1B and DH to keep him in the lineup. Yeah, he was an all star last year but look at his second half where he batted .226/.281/.413. He was certainly over extended in his role last year. The Sox can find another quality backup catcher.
  4. I’d let McCann, EE, Cishek and Colomé all walk after the season. McCann will probably be a team’s number one catcher. I think EE is on the decline and want no part of that. Cishek has been getting rocked all year and I’ll try to find a better closer than Colomé. That clears $33M off the books.
  5. I was going to say that too. And has been pretty vocal about how he’s adjusting as he learns the analytics in spring training.
  6. If the Bulls aren't moving on from Boylen due to "financial constraints", the Sox will not be moving on from Renteria. He's done a good job at developing the players but he does a terrible job at putting them in positions to succeed. He's also very close-minded when it comes to some of the newer trends of the game. I was pissed at his reluctance to use an opener for guys like Lopez and Gio when they've been terrible in the first inning as a team. It's been said before but the decision to leave him in to face the Brewers a third time through the order was inexcusable. I also hate his decisions when it comes to the lineup. Abreu shouldn't be playing every game against RHSP's and when he does play against him, he shouldn't be batting third. So far he has failed to optimize the talent on the roster. The next manager on the Sox is someone who uses all the information available to optimize the talent on the roster, while still emphasizing player development. PD is super important and if the Dodgers and Yankees have made it a constant priority, so should the White Sox. I want someone like Kevin Cash or Bob Melvin to manage the Sox.
  7. I think Robert is the leadoff hitter long term but I want to see this when Anderson and Madrigal are back: Anderson Moncada Robert Grandal/Eloy Eloy/Grandal Abreu EE Mazara Madrigal
  8. Excited to see the work of the new PD staff and the analytics team. Now if they had a manager who used the metrics.
  9. Long time president of the TA fan club. I think he can hit for more power but if he’s an average defender, the Sox are so much better.
  10. Guys I like for the Sox: Gunnar Hoglund, Luke Leto, Ian Moller, and Alex Binelas.

  12. Have you been having thoughts or dreams with homoerotic undertones that you're ashamed of? All jokes aside, this is one of the dumbest things that I've ever seen here. I can't decide if this post is more misogynist than homophobic or if its more homophobic than misogynist but its certainly completely stupid.
  13. Good learning experience from Robert, guys like Hendricks are going to give him trouble early.
  14. Don’t blame him one bit. There are things that are more important than baseball. I hope he’s okay and let’s see him next year.
  15. I don't know where else to put this, so I'm going to put this here... I like Nick Madrigal and I think that he'll help the Sox win a lot of games while they're on this run but I think he was a terrible pick at #4. In my opinion, when you're drafting in the top five I feel like you're supposed to walk away with a game-changing, potential franchise player, and that's not Nick Madrigal.
  16. I'm super excited to see Andrew Vaughn, I was of the opinion that he would've pushed himself to the bigs this year.
  17. I’m curious to see him a year from now, after being on a ML nutrition and strength and conditioning program. The knock on him was that he wasn’t very well conditioned and had a bit of a now body but let’s see if the Sox can work on it with him.
  18. I really like the pick more and more. The Sox got a guy who should be a big time weapon for a long time whether it’s as a starter or out of the pen.
  19. Kelley, Crochet, Thompson, Dalquist, and Nera. Be excited.
