  1. To be fair, Getz never said any of that. That was all Jerry. I think it’s smart that Getz didn’t put a timeline on the team, it’s too early to do so. Why give someone rope to hang you with if you don’t have to.
  2. I said this when they made the Bannister hire but when are the Sox going to make a similar hire on the hitting side?
  3. I think you're caring too much about the bullpen of a team that is designed to lose 100+ games. Yeah the bullpen got worse this year, I think it may have something to do with Curt Hasler not being there but this is a team who is designed to lose 100+ games, so it doesn't matter.
  4. Some people, a lot of people on here were criticizing the team for not resigning him. They dodged a bullet.
  5. Crochet throws 30 pitches that last inning and he’s back out there? That’s fireable, this is a lost season, play it safe not stupid
  6. He’s not a MLB starter. It’ll be foolish to keep him as a two way guy
  7. I dont get this, it's undeniably the best thing the organization can do for its self. Moving him and getting a big haul could set the team up for a long time.
  8. I don't think so either but he's my favorite of the three pitchers
  9. Current top 5 for the Sox in order of preference 1) Konnor Griffin 2) Bryce Rainer 3) Trey Yesavage 4) JJ Wetherholt 5) Chase Burns
  10. They've been linked to another in the draft in Bryce Rainer
  11. I think he'll be fine, the assignment to AAA was definitely aggressive, would have like to see him start at AA to begin the year.
  12. I’d say they’ve been pretty good about manipulating their bonus pools. They’ve also shown a willingness to spend over the bonus pools on multiple occasions, to the fullest extend without incurring a penalty
  13. Which doesn’t really matter at the end of the day.
  14. I'm leaning Konnor Griffin right now. Give me the young, tooled up outfielder.
  15. It might be a medical reason, the TJ he had in high school scares me and college teams aren’t known for doing what’s best for their pitchers with their high pitch counts.
  16. I know that you shouldn’t draft for need but the Sox biggest system need has to be power right?
  17. This is good. Assuming health, there’s a non zero chance he’s in the bigs next year.
  18. He could be in his decline by the time the Sox are good next. I think they’ll draft one of the two high school bats in the draft, which tells you that this is a potentially long rebuild. They should trade present assets for future ones. The package you mentioned would be good for the Sox.
  19. If that was in reference to Velasquez, he's not a C anymore. The Guardians did the smart thing and immediately moved him to 1B once they saw how special the bat can be.
  20. Ralphy Velasquez from Cleveland would be a very nice get
  21. Teams always overpay for pitching, especially at the trade deadline. If he keeps this up, they can get a pretty good prospect for him. I’m curious if they’ll move him soon for a prospect and an additional draft pick.
  22. They should just leave him at 1B if he's the pick, don't want another Andrew Vaughn outcome
  23. HOMETOWN: Minooka, IL HEIGHT: 6-0 WEIGHT: 200 BAT/THROW: R-R COLLEGE COMMITMENT: Eastern Illinois George is a powder-keg built outfielder with tons of strength in his lower half and physicality in his upper-body and arms. He sinks into his legs and anchors his back-side at the plate in an effort to use ground force to create power. While he can at times drift into his front-side a bit early, overall there's very little wasted movement in his swings with hands that stay tight to the body and short through the ball especially on pitches down the middle or on the middle third. He can get a bit more disconnected on pitchers on the outer black, but has shown a nice ability to battle into longer counts. Continuing to improve his timing and triggers in the box should unlock a more consistent hit tool as he climbs the ladder and sees more advanced pitching. There's a little Evan Gattis in the operation, albeit in a much different athletic form factor. George is a tremendous athlete who posts plus to sometimes double-plus run times and tends to show off the burners in the field. His exceptionally strong frame creates an aggressive, violent running style that could force the run tool into a more comfortably graded above average to plus tool at the next level. While his route running and reads have steadily improved year over year, scouts consider the glove mostly average right now with a chance to trend up as time and reps increase. He's extremely young for the class; just 18.1 on draft day. From Joe Doyle
  24. Crochet might be the only guy on the team who could realistically be on the next good Sox team.
