Really been enjoying Twin Peaks, the last episode had me in tears towards the end. About to start the Defenders. I really enjoyed the first season of DD and I loved Jessica Jones, but DD S2, Iron Fist and Luke Cage left a lot to be desired. I think the MCU Netflix shows are too long and should be 8/10 episodes max.

QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 15, 2017 -> 02:06 PM) Good stuff from Longenhagen: http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/eric-longen...cts-chat-815-2/ Nick 12:13 What did you think of Turang, De Sedas, and Gorman at the PG game in San Diego? Eric A Longenhagen 12:15 Turang is a plus athlete, future plus glove at short for me even with just average hands. Arm is plus. Not sure what kind of impact he's going to have with the bat. I do think he's very difficult to strike out. He ground out a great AB vs Rocker Sunday night. But there's some length there, he pushes the ball the other way an awful lot, not sure there's enough for him to be 1-1 or anything like that. 12:16 De Sedas: Love the raw power from both sides of the plate, looked fine at short during in and out but didn't see enough of it in games to know if he fits there. That's something that will play out next spring but he's got first round tools. Worst case scenario for that kind of power with infield actions is what happened to Luis Curbelo two drafts ago where, once clubs started really watching him, he struggled to hit and fell. 12:17 Gorman was probably the best performer of the last few weeks. Hit in games, homered and doubled the opposite way in the last week, made some nice defensive plays, throws well. Looks great. Was just about to post that. I've been watching a lot of the All American games and it seems like Kelenic makes a spectacular play in the field every game. My favorite guy for the Sox.

QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jul 29, 2017 -> 05:27 PM) I just don't think there's any real argument to targeting specific positions, ESPECIALLY at this point. Given the attrition rate of prospectys, and how early we are in this process, there's no way to tell which positions we will need when it's time to be competitive. If we ever do somehow find ourselves with too many of one thing and not enough of another, that's when you trade from surplus. The answer MUST be BPA every time. That's how you build dynasties. Always taking the best player available.

Tim Anderson has been playing pretty good as of late at the plate.

I hope the Sox resign Holland. Dead serious

QUOTE (Wanne @ Aug 12, 2017 -> 01:46 PM) Me neither. I rather hit a home run at #3 than have an epic fail/disaster at #1. It's never a sure thing at #1 and honestly more hype...but I will say lately I have a ton more confidence with this FO and Hahn calling shots these days than in the past. All I keep envisioning tho...is all the young talent we have right now and a possible rotation of Rodon, Kopech, Lopez, Giolito and either Dunning, Hansen or Cease in a couple years. Good lord....plus add whoever gets selected next year...Sox sitting very well indeed. Its never a sure thing with any pick in the draft.

Can't blame the Sox for being overtly cautious on kid that they just spent $52M on

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 7, 2017 -> 05:46 PM) Finally, whoever scouted Justin Turner and Chris Taylor for the Dodgers, they deserve a huge signing bonus to come over to the Sox. I want to say Logan White, who now works for the Padres

QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 7, 2017 -> 10:22 AM) I think it would be good for him, not punish him. I think sending him down would be absolutely terrible for his psyche, they want him to get away from baseball and clear his head, they should put him on the DL.

Moncada's best friend wasn't murdered. Let's see how he does when that happens.

QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Aug 6, 2017 -> 06:36 PM) Ehhh I wouldn't say that. I've seen people rooting for #1 overall in 2019 already. The Sox already have a pretty good shot at getting the #1 in 2019 without people rooting for it.

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 5, 2017 -> 06:38 PM) Hawk praising KW eye for talent, he sucked drafting overall. You mean Doug Laumann.
-
Also very much in favor of the 26th man/Inactive roster spot
-
I would like to see Moncada be more aggressive early in his at bats
-
I've never seen this many people of color on a Red Sox team before. Random thought

Give him another 5-7 days off. TANK

QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Jul 27, 2017 -> 02:15 PM) Anderson hitting leadoff tonight. That's something I've never understood. 1. The Sox aren't playing for anything. 2. If everything pans out for TA, with his skill set I think he's a top of the order hitter. They should bat him there and let him stick it out no matter how bad he struggles as he refines his game at the ML level. I said this before but I think they should bat Anderson, Moncada and Abreu 1-2-3 every game.

QUOTE (JPR @ Jul 26, 2017 -> 10:28 PM) I understand that renteria is robin Ventura 2.0 but you got start the batting order like this: Moncada (home to 3B in 10.35 seconds, third fastest in baseball) Tim anderson Jose Abreu M. Davidson Anderson Moncada Abreu Melky/Avi Avi/Melky Davidson
-
While I think TA needs a mental break, the org needs to work with him on developing a plan of attack at the plate.
-
I'd personally like to see TA up here but I would consider putting him on the DL for a week or two and have him clear his head and come back recharged.
