  1. The Sox love to draft local in-state guys, so he has to be on their radar and they have to be interested
  2. The fact that Korey Lee isn’t the de facto everyday catcher is ridiculous malpractice. I’d even argue it’s a fireable offense for Grifol. By trotting Maldonado out there, he’s not putting the best team on the field.
  3. Now, don’t sign anyone with a career walk rate under 8%
  4. The fifth pick is worth $7,763,700. Think one of them signs for $7.0M or $6.5M?
  5. California doesn’t need another team. Put one in Montreal, Portland or Salt Lake City. And while you’re at it, bring back the Sonics.
  6. I didn’t know Quero’s GB rate was above 50%. I think he can be a good player for the Sox but that has to change for him to be an impact player.
  7. I wonder if his struggles to begin the year were due to him trying to tap into his power more.
  8. I watched the Dash game last night to see Schultz and I was struck by how bad fundamentally the team is. Missing the cut off man, sloppy infield play, it was bad baseball. I know it’s the minors, A ball specifically, and mainly of these guys who sniff the majors but that’s not excuse to be fundamentally sound. It’s not hard to see why the Sox have struggled.
  9. It’s amazing how many of the top 25 prospects are all struggling right now.
  10. Im a bit spooked at the moment with guys who've had the TJ already and it seems like he had his early in his high school career.
  11. There were a lot of people on this forum who clamored for Hahn to resign Abreu to a huge contract. I’m glad that he didn’t, he avoided a disaster. Not resigning Abreu is one of Hahn’s better moves as GM
  12. In order my top 5 for the Sox go: Rainer Griffin Cags Burns Montgomery
  13. 2026, but 2027 more likely.
  14. You were probably surprised by the game I take it.
  15. I’m hoping the Sox place Crochet on the IL after every few starts to preserve his arm, so he can last the whole season. The Dodgers would do this to lessen the load on their young arms and often injured pitchers like Kershaw/May. The Sox have acquired so much pitching depth since last season’s trade deadline that they can easily pluck someone from the 40 man to replace Crochet for a start or two.
  16. Grossman is much much needed on this team/org because he walks like 15% of the time (league average is around 7.5%). The Sox needs more guys who see a lot of pitches and take their walks. Grossman is a welcome addition
  17. This is the way. I would be pretty pleased with this pick. I also imagine that it would come in underslot and the Sox would save a lot of money.
  18. 56-106. A perfect season for the Sox has them trading all vets of value by the trade deadline including Luis Robert. It’s going to be ugly year round for this team. The only thing that matters is identifying the next core guys and getting them experience
  19. I hope this is a prep heavy draft because the Sox have an older farm. 11 of the top 30 according to MLB Pipeline are 21 or younger as of today's date
  20. I think they’ll stay away too but yes, I am a huge believer in Kurtz
  21. I’d be fine with Condon or Kurtz but they should take whoever the best bat is.
  22. With all the pitching the Sox have landed, I hope this draft class for them is heavy on bats.
